Poll: Best of the Halo games (Halo fans only)

Seeing the five hundred million billion gillion zillion killion villion (honestly I could go on all night) threads posted about Halo hate I decided to do something out of the ordinary and create a poll specifically for the proud men and women of the Halo Nation and ask them out of all the Halo's which is the best one?
I personally liked each Halo game for different reasons, but enough about me (for once) and instead decided to ask other Halo fans out there what their favourite of the series was and why?

P.S could all non fans please not share negative opinions, I respect your differeing tastes in games but this thread is just a discussion between Halo fans and not the place.

In response to the question, Halo: Combat Evolved all the way. I'm not a big fan of the series (infact it's decidedly mediocre) but that is the best of the three.

Halo 3. It's the only one I've played *sheepish*. But I'm quite interested in Halo Wars. Don't have an xbox though so I guess I'll just pursue that interest through youtube.

Halo 2, not because I can give any objective reasons as to why. It's just that it is the one I've played the most and have the best memories of.

Halo 1 for the campaign. Halo 2 for the online. Though I still play halo 3 more now. It may be better now, but halo 2 was better for the time if you know what I mean. Halo 2 is kind of more fast-paced than halo 3.

But halo 1 is my favorite. Ive finished that game countless times with friends.

Halo: CE for single player, but Halo 3 for multiplayer. I'm more of a story guy though, so CE has got to take my vote. I do wish Bungie would stop dangling unacquireable weapons/vehicles in front of me though. ;/ I really wanted to try out that cool anti-air wraith in 3 and they were just like "LOL NO YOU CAN'T!"

And Hunter weapons continue to elude me as well. The first Fuel Rod cannon becomes available and at the same time the Hunters get some sort of nuclear beam weaponry of some sort.

*sigh*

All games need more Hornets too.
