Poll: Best Racing Game You Have Played This Console Generation?

Or any certain series. For me it would have to be a tie between Burnoutaradise and Dirt 2, pending on Dirt 3 coming out and hopefully another open world Burnout game.

Definitely Burnout: Paradise. It is hands down the best racing game I have ever played.

srsly though, it takes racing games and boils down to its most basic idea

Its not about pretty graphics
Its not about you going really fast
Its all about how much you can fuck up your opposition

I played one of the Burnout games at a friends house and had insane fun crash-rolling across the open world and bouncing towards busses to keep the crash going, but im not sure which game it was and i wasnt really racing.

Out of the games I own, Id have to go with Need for Speed Hot pursuit, although that isnt saying much because I didnt finnish the singleplayer and none of my friends have it so the multiplayer is useless to me atm. Still, soundtrack was epic, and I only stopped playing because other games came out that stole my attention away.

Need for Speed Most Wanted, which did have ports for this console gen, has been my favorite raceing game for a long time, but i dont think it really counts seeing as it was an early patch job at the start of Xbox's launch.

I enjoyed Split/Second the most, it had that Burnout Revenge feel to it. I'm not that big on Racing games as it is but those games I found to be pretty fun.

Burnout Paradise. What other fucking racing game actually scores you positively on aggressive driving, crashing, and taking out your opponents? Not to mention the crashes are the closest you can get to metallic fireworks. Pure awesome.

i think most wanted held up pretty good for a port though and i still have that and Burnout in my game collection. that was crash time in Burnoutaradise btw.

Yeah NFS Most Wanted was the best in that series imo. Ill have give Burnout Paradise a propper try sometime.
