Edit 2: ok I'm re posting this sense i have screwed up, but mass effect 2 doesn't count because it doesn't have anything to prove it's close to being finished
I don't understand this. It's pretty well known that Mass Effect is high up there (in my opinion the best) Sci-Fi game ever, so why doesn't it count? Your reason doesn't make sense to me. Elaborate please.

Other: Mass Effect.

And before you say "RARGH MASS EFFECT ONLY HAS 2 GAMES IT DOESN'T COUNT"... Firstly, your "three games or more" requirement is completely arbitrary; I reject it. Secondly, it is well known that there will be a Mass Effect 3 within at most a few years (and since Bioshock is on the poll, you can't legitimately say that this doesn't count). Thirdly, there is technically already a third Mass Effect game. This game is Mass Effect: Galaxies for the iPhone. The fact that it is a terrible stain on the Mass Effect name is irrelevant.

My definition of a series is 3 or more games.
Mass Effect isn't even had mentioning of the 3rd being finished soon so it doesn't count

Ok, you 2 guys who didn't read, 'MASS EFFECT HAS 2 GAMES, NOT 3'
In my opinion, i say that 3 games makes a series, and 2 only makes a sequel.
If i see this again, I'm going to remake this with missed one not being an option.
There will be 3 games. And you put Bioshock, which only has 2 games, so you just invalidated your own point.

Mass Effect, hands down.
isnt bioshock the sequel of systemshock? if I'm remebering that right then yes it does fit the 3 game requirment.

Mass effect is part of a trilogy, yes there will be a mass effect 3. So its a seris....should be a valid vote.
It isn't close to being finished and that doesnt mean shit in my book for its cause

Mass Effect: Galaxies for the iPhone. Even though it was terrible and we wish it didn't exist.

OT: I'm throwing my lot in with the Half Life series.
ok, a portable game for a phone is an app, not a game

Some far better sci-fi titles that you missed:

Star Wars
Half-Life (4 games just counting the episodes, plus Portal and many others)
Command & Conquer
Crysis (2 games, plus expansion)
Starcraft
Mass Effect

I understand that there's room for only so many options, but you missed some glaringly obvious titles. Having three games as a requirement for a series is a little absurd.

OT: My vote goes to Mass Effect, with Half-Life a close second.

The Xenogears / Xenosaga series.
I absolutely love the setting and story that these games tell.
