Who is the Best Starcraft 2 caster/commentator. I recently started watching Husky and Day9 and I like both of them, but I'm interested to know who your favourite or if you like someone else entirely.

Out of all Starcraft 2 commentators, I've seen only Husky, so the guy wins by default.

Now, if you asked me who the best MW2 commentator was...

I love Day[J]. I watch others too (even idra damnit). Husky&HD are pretty fun but you can't learn strategies from watching them. Tasteless/Artosis/JP are also good shoutcasters but Tastless always talks like... i don't know, stoned? I don't play that much zerg but Psy is very good at playing and commentating zerg. Sometimes i watch SaharaDrac too, he is a funny guy ^^

Day9 > Psy > djWheat > SaharaDrac > Martijn > scrubs.

Husky just babbles semi-coherently, mostly not even related to the game he's casting; that makes him funny, not good...

Husky is by far the most entertaining, which considering we're watching a *game* makes him the default win for me.

Husky.

Though I do like BreakyCPK, even though he just started shoutcasting Starcraft and basically doesn't know the technical terms yet.

His HoN shoutcasts are entertaining though.

I used to like Husky, and he was the first commentator I followed.

But then I began watching Day9's work. And he blows all the other tripe that passes as 'commentary' right out of the fucking pond. Day9, in my opinion, is the only commentator with substance and the only one worth watching for any SC2 fan.

I highly recommend everyone check out some of his stuff, especially Funday Mondays.

Thank you for pointing out Husky! I've seen TotalHalibut's commentaries, but Husky is absolutely amazing :)

Depends on what you're looking for.

If you want commentary from a person who knows a lot about the game, then Tasteless and Artosis take the cake. The might not have the flamboyant style of some other comentators, but they understand what's going on in the game and from that angle they are the best. They are the default comentators for the GSL for a reason.

Husky and HD are fun to listen to, but for the most part they just state the obvious. They are fun to listen to, but won't provide much info beyond what you could see for yourself by watching the replay with the sound turned off. This is especially evident with Husky, who often doesn't even see what's happening on his screen, much less has the ability to offer some insight into the flow of the game.

Day9 is... different. He's more focused on how the game works, offering advice for newer players. Also, his style is different from most other commentators and might take a bit of getting used to. But if you're looking to improve your game you can learn quite a bit from watching his casts.

Also worth mentioning is Psy, who is a good comentator with a solid knowledge of the game, but I rarely watch his casts since he mostly does his own games.

Day[9], he's awesome.
And he has Funday Monday, Nooby Tuesday and Friendday Wednesday, which are awesome too.

Is it just me or is it rather alarming to realize that playing a game isnt enough of a deviation and time killer, that people would actually spend life to here the opinions of other people playing the game?

Sounds alot like watching golf on tv and making an informed opinion on who is the better commentator.

Ive got nothing better to do right now, and I still wouldnt do something like that.
