The Unreal Championship games don't count as no one liked them and they weren't for PC, the true platform of the Unreal Series.

Loved Unreal Tournament but UT2004 is my favorite of the series. To bad about Unreal Tournament 3 being such a huge bust. For shame epic...

I would like Unreal 3 the most if there were more people online. Also, I thought assault was the best kind of skirmish. Still, Unreal 3 is prolly my favorite.

Unreal Championship 2 was pretty good, with melee combat and whatnot.

Also, anyone who votes anything other than the original Unreal Tournament in this poll is a fool.

I favorite in the series is UT2K4. I spent a lot of time playing all of the different game modes in that one. I even used custom textures to create my own tournament team and play through the singleplayer campaign.

*sighs* good times...

The original Unreal was a marvel of graphics and gameplay at the time, giving a huge non-linear world to explore. The first time I stepped out of the Vortex Rikers I was completely blown away from the sheer size of everything around me. I'd say Unreal Tournament (the original) is a stronger game overall, and certainly more influential on developing gaming, especially in the competitive scene, but there's a magic to the very first game that has never quite been recreated anywhere else, a sort of mystique or mysticism, an otherworldly quality.

(puts up hate shield)

Out of all the unreal games, I would go back to unreal championship 2 all the time. The melee combat gave the game a bit more strategy then the average frag fest (seeing as i only had the console version for xbox, it provided more for me than Halo 2 most of the time). Plus I loved the story that went with it.

As much as I loved the original Unreal and Unreal Tournament, in terms of sheer time spent playing and most fun derived from it, I'd have to go with 2003/4. I can't count even begin to count how many hours have been wasted away with that game and it's various modes, mods, and online matchup. Hell, I have it installed *right now* whereas UT3 and its kin are all just another box on my shelf.

Ah, UT2k4 has been a staple at all the LANs I've hosted. Simple, instant gratification.

I'm undecided on UT3. While it's nice that they finally added some better fleshed-out characters (and a proper, semi-coherent single player campaign) it seems like they forgot the Tournament part of the title somewhere.

[small]Plus the fake copy I've got won't LAN properly... :([/small]
