As we all know, the old "blow the cart" method doesn't actually work. Some recommend using isoprophyl alchohol, others suggest to open it, and clean the contacts with an eraser.

What do you doods recommend?

Never heard of the eraser method, but I can't really see it being better than isopropyl alcohol and Q-tips.

As with most electronics, compressed air.

The reason the "blow on it" method is bad is because when you blow on the contacts with your mouth little bits of saliva get in there. Compressed air bypasses that problem.

Still, it kind of depends on why you need to clean it, is it just dust or did the cartridge get gunked up somehow?

I first heard of it from this video:

Though, in all fairness, one of the top comments is an apparent professional doing some fact checking on the method.

I don't care what they say. My games always worked after blowing on them...so it works.

Blowing on it has worked for damn near 30 years. You can take your liberal, pinko, doogoodin', commie, socialist carebear compressed air and rubbing alcohol then stick em!

I use q-tips and rubbing alcohol. That cleans them up nicely.

I just blow on it I can understand in the long term it may not be good for them but I have never had a cartridge game break on me and I have always used the blow on it method and some of those games are over 20 years old and are still working fine.
