It was a topic on one of Yahtzee's videos and tehpwnsauce and some other person got into a flame that really derailed the thread and then it was rerailed somehow, it was very funny how angry they got at each other over something so stupid.

I remember when a troll kept posting here. He said "I'll shut up if someone can say something so awesome to shut me up".

I was going to select "Love to hate them", but then I noticed how the last one resembled Alanis Morrisette lyrics, so I selected it for the LOLz.
I think that's why many people get into flame wars: they enjoy it, and fight fire with fire for fun. I'm not sure if the majority flame for this reason, since I suspect most people don't like arguments but get in them anyway because they have some hot-button issue that shuts down their reason when you touch upon it.

The best flame war experience I've had was when I stumbled upon an argument between a pair of YouTubers about whether or not Brett Favre was a better athlete than Allen Iverson. The guy who was pro-Favre was hurling tons of insults and threats towards pro-Iverson, but the Iverson guy defended his opinion without making an ass of him(her?)self. After the fight fizzled out, I stepped in and declared pro-Iverson the winner, (he or she was clearly the better debater), thus pissing off pro-Favre and re-igniting the battle. Needless to say I had many laughs that day.
