I have to rent the second one before I think about Infinite.

And then I might import it.

I hated Bioshock 2 (huge fan of the first game) so I don't have high hopes for this one...but I'll probably get it on sale and sell it back if it's junk.
But...but...but it's being developed by the ones who DID Bioshock! Not Bioshock 2, that was handed to a subsidiary branch, or however you call it.

OT: It looks goddamn amazing, and it's definitely a first day pick up if I can afford it.
Yeah, but from the 10 minute demo, I've already spotted several problems:

1. It's a love story. Not to say that 2K can't make a love story interesting and compelling...but I seriously doubt it. Also, Bioshock has ALWAYS been about family.

2. Booker TALKS and his dialogue is rather stupid, accomplishing nothing. One of the awesome things about Bioshock is that Jack's reactions were your reactions, your choices to make. Here, Booker's own personality and views make the experience biased as all hell.

3. The plasmids/powers seem to be much more based in 'magic' than science.

Honestly, Colombia looks beautiful and the combat seems solid, but what makes Bioshock amazing is the story, characters, and plot elements...

I like the first Bioshock and the 2nd one I also liked but I'm not sure that it will "feel" like Bioshock but I will wait for reviews and more info on it.

The trailer gave me a boner, which was slightly confusing since I'm female.

Sadly, I know trailers are always misleading, so I'll have to wait for some more information. I'll definitely be buying it though.

Yes, because it's by the designer of the first Bioshock, who had the idea for it (and also for System Shock 2), and who was smart enough to pull out from Bioshock 2 to do something truly substantial (B2 might be a solid sequel but it's better to go in a slightly different direction), which I trust this will be. The ingame footage that was shown I already found pretty impressive, although there's certainly room to make still more of it.

Even if you complain about the gameplay of Bioshock, it's in the top class of originality and writing in modern gaming.

I really loved the concept of Bioshock, the Rapture setting, all that... right up until the point that I actually played it. And then it just didn't do it for me.

The setting was great, but the game itself was just ok.

So no, not gonna rush out and buy this one.

It depends.

The second one was very avergae, mostly due to a lesser atmosphere and the sense that you have played this exact same thing before. If Infinite can get around this, then most definantly. I love be some Bioshock

I'll look at the reviews, Then I'll buy it... probably.

I don't buy very many games.
Same here. Apparently, after I wasted my money on "Amnesia", I shouldn't have lost faith in Yahtzee over Bioshock 2. I thought it would at least be enjoyable. Well, besides the truly horrible appalling "Games for Windows Live" idiocy that you have to put up with to even play the damn thing, the game was less fun than I thought a Ken Levine game could ever be. And that's from the ultimate System Shock fan. No good. No good at all.

I hope "Bioshock Infinite" redeems itself and retains some of the great storytelling and atmosphere of the original game.
