I have to choose Aperture because of GLaDOSs singing and for the cube, plus theres cake. Although the building was poorly planned, anyone remember the catwalk above the bottomless, cavernous room.

Except for that it isn't 100% right. The part he got wrong was actually "We're throwing a party. We invited the companion cube, but he couldn't come because you murdered him. Black Mesa: (edit) I think the fact that Black Mesa had a lot more government contracts would lead to an increase in money. Aperture does have better facilities, though: very shiny.

It just occurred to me; the Black Mesa Incident (BMI. Hey, wait a second) is why cooler than the Aperture Science Incident (ASI). While both created a hero, only the BMI had consequences for someone beyond that hero. Also, it created a hero who, while he uses some new-fangled tech, only needs a crowbar, while the hero from the ASI needs a one-of-a-kind portal gun to stand a chance.

Aperture Science offers cake. Black Mesa is a government facility, so chances are once you enter, they will never let you leave ever again. Not too cool.
Besides, you wouldn't meet Gordon Freeman, because as soon as he arrives, the place went straight to hell/space.

I put Black Mesa because it feels cooler. It's secluded and has multi-tier levels under ground. It feels like what you're doing is secretive and it has a cool feel to it IMO.

I'd have to go with Aperature. It seems like they just fool around there. They invent fun stuff like the portal gun and the super collider super button.

Let's not go forgetting the Take-A-Wish Foundation.

I got nothing against Aperature but alot of the test's there seem to have weird head game effects that to me seem to serve no real point.

Black Mesa, because everything you see inside that place was made by them. And remember working at Aperture leads to certain death, but working at Black Mesa means I might become a leader of the resistance, or at least not dead.

The ASTF was cool and all but apart from the portal gun what did they do that worked?

I was under the impression that Aperture Science was part of the same Half Life universe as Black Mesa. Probably A.S. is in Black Mesa somewhere. I like Portal just fine but I got stuck in some of the puzzles and am having a hard time motivating myself to plug on through it. It would help if Portal had more of a story to it to keep you interested in seeing the ending.
