If I ever buy it (and I probably won't), I'm picking the PC version. FPSs are best played on the PC since the controls are simple, and aiming with a mouse is easer than using a joystick. Plus, the only consoles I have are the PS2 and a Wii, and they're both collecting dust.

i was gonna get it for the PC version but it doesn't have true dedicated servers so no. I really wanted to play 50 player matches like in cod 4 but I can't because Activison are assholes. :(

Get it for the 360, there no point playing it with a crappy PC and you'll be able to use your preferred controller then as well.

The Wii version!

No, seriously. I was considering getting it for the Wii. But I'm an online whore and COD's campaigns are pretty damn awesome in HD, so PS3 version it is.

Xbox 360 version. The price isn't massively higher, just the standard price for console games. And it's no fun playing with bad graphics and crashing if you get the PC version.

That will be my choice anyway.
Wha?

PC version is going to be the graphically superior version...always is.

I say PC, I like me some mouse + keyboard.

He said "bad graphics" because I have a pretty old laptop and will be forced to play with minimal settings. It has nothing to do with the PC being graphically superior or not.

There is also the 360 version. It costs a lot more, no dedicated servers and none of my friends have one, yet I'm sure I'll be having fun.

And this is the choice I can't make. So... uhm... what do you think, Escapist?
If you shop around online the price isnt actually higher. You can get them for less then the pc release price if you know where to look.
Eh, about that. I don't live in the U.S.A. Ordering online from where I'm at is not a particularly common practice and not particularly easy.

Doesn't it entirely depend on personal choice and circumstance? If your PC is reasonably powerful and you have gamed on it before and you have a reliable internet connection, you might want to get it on the PC.

But if you feel more comfortable with an Xbox/PS3 controller, or your PC is not a high-end one, I'm sure the Console version will suit you just fine.

Both the PC and the Xbox Version will probably give you the same experience, in both multiplayer or singleplayer. I mostly play games on my PC, purely because I can afford to and I like the control of a mouse. But not everyone is the same as me.

Just ask yourself this:

1) DO I NEED TO PLAY IT ON "THE BIG SCREEN" (i.e 50-inch plasma/LCD TV)?

If you really need to play it on a big screen, then you probably will go with the console version since moving your PC down to your TV is usually a hassle. If you simply don't care (as I suspect is the case), then move on to the next question:

2) WHAT KIND OF CONTROLLER DO I LIKE?

If you answered Xbox or PS3, then get it on those games. If you said Mouse, ask yourself this:

3) CAN MY PC RUN IT WELL?

If the answer is yes, then get it for the PC. If the answer is no, or you're really not sure and don't know where to find the answer, get it on a console.

The price is the same for both, and the experience will largely be the same for both. It's simply a matter of what feels more comfortable in your hand - a gamepad or a mouse.

Where's the PS3 love?
I prefer the controls for the 360 shooters. No offense to the PS3, it's better at other things.
Controllers I would give you but controls? There exactly the same, I have played MW2 on PS3 and 360, there is no difference. I think the shoulder buttons are swapped around but on MW2 you could change that around, so R2 is fire your weapon and R1 throws a nade etc.

The controllers. I misspoke.

The controls can't be any different.
