Once upon a time, I announced an idea on the forums. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.127981] My idea was screamed at by the majority of the readers as lunacy. Those that were ignorant and made assumptions made up the majority of the replies, while those that were a part of the body mod community cheered me on and gave support.

I got to thinking, "I wonder how tolerant the readers are of body mods." I want to know your limits. I'm scaling a poll at levels 1 (no modification of any kind) to 8 (highest the poll will go) (reptile man, [http://www.funnychill.com/files/weird-pictures/reptile-man.jpg] tiger girl, etc).

Lets keep things civil. :) Your idea of what is reasonable for body mods may be crazy in the eyes of others, or tame by comparison. There are bound to be a few people that disagree. Lets keep a http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.127981]civil tongue. ;)

*note about the poll; the poll is just to demonstrate your limits. Where you draw the line. It's staged in complexity from simple nothing mods. I'll add to the existing levels if I get suggestions.

I could care less about what people do to themselves. It's their life, their money (probably), and ultimately their own personal decision. They're the ones dealing with the pros and cons. The really atrocious ones give me all the more reason to avoid them.

Level 8, as well as the cyborg-esque idea the guy above me has.

UNTIL they perfect the art of constructing bat-like wings and attaching scales to the flesh, I am a Level 1 person.

No chance in hell until I can become a dragon without risk.

I've been considering getting a tattoo I won't regret when I'm 80, but nothing else. Piercings look odd on me.

This is also under consideration.

15 here and thus not qualified to make that kind of life decision yet. I probably will never get any sort of tattoo... although the idea of getting Jack's shackle tattoos from BioShock has definitely swam through my mind before.

For myself, Level 1. For a friend/potential significant other Level 4 would be my maximum. It's not that I'm prejudice against people with heavy body mods, it's just doesn't look or feel right to me. It's generally distracting.

Oh, if I was hiring someone, Lvl 3 would be my limit. Sorry, while I'm fine with piercings in other places if we are friends, I wouldn't want them anywhere that is obvious if you work for me(on the eyebrow, nosering, etc.).

For me level 3 is as far as I'm willing to go other than that it's all scary to me.

Blargh. I'm stupid enough to read YOU! in giant red capitals, and assume you meant on other people...

On me? 3. I don't think I'll get piercings myself, but I have a few tattoos lined up for when I get some cash.

On other people? Depends on the person, but I've said up to 5 'cos I've known a couple of girls that got full back tattoos, tongue/lip and multiple ear piercings, and they look fiiiiiiiiiiiine...
