Books, it doesn't seem right to listen to something that originally was meant to be read.

Plus, I don't want to wear headphones when doing so.

Books obviously. I prefer imagining what certain characters sound like to hearing them through an audio book.

But if you read at a much faster rate than any audio-book than it much better to read it yourself.
This is why I don't do audio books. I'm a quick reader and don't have the patience to sit around listening to something I could read in half the time. Also, headphones give me headaches. I don't have any trouble reading in the car or anything like that, and prefer to listen to music while driving.

I also like plopping down with a book and just reading. It's sort of a break from the usual multitasking I do and very relaxing.

Books. I love the feel of the paper, the rustle of the pages, the smell of the binding, the world I craft in my imagination as I envelope myself inside thoughts unknown to me as of yet. I will never, never buy an e-book, or an audiobook for that exact reason.

I prefer books to actually experience the story, but I do think that audiobooks are awesome to fall asleep to! =D

Oh, if only Marsters had played Dresden in the TV show.
His voice is just...perfect for audio book reading. In fact, it's perfect for pretty much anything.

And there was a TV Show of the Dresden files?
Not a GOOD one, but Sci Fi picked up a 13 episode season. Don't expect a huge number of similarities: There's no Blue Beetle or Mister, Bob's a condemned ghost, Dresden swings around a hockey stick, Murphy's not really tough as nails, short, or blonde enough, most secondary characters don't exist, and only the pilot really follows the plot of the books (Storm Front ran later in the mix, though, so by then it probably didn't matter).
Hey, don't knock the TV series...and definitely don't knock Bob, he was awesome in it.

Books, all the way. I can always imagine more interesting voices than the bland, boring narrators I've heard in the audio books I've taken out from the library. That and I just fucking love reading.

I prefer audio books because I can go do other things at the same time or I can close my eyes and relax while listening to the book.

Usually a book. Unless it is Douglas Adams reading his own work, there is nothing better! Neil Gaiman is good too. I am not sure most authors have the personalities to pull it off but I know both of them do and I would actually rather listen to them than read it myself.
I bet Terry Pratchett would be fun to listen to also.

I bet Terry Pratchett could do his work justice in audio as well.

The actor was awesome, but he'd be awesome in even the most fetid pile of refuse.

Bob himself? Meh, he was okay. I vastly prefer the unrepressed spirit in a skull than the moping, broody guy with generic dark past #462.

I don't particularly understand the appeal of audiobooks, to be honest. Certainly if you're out jogging or something, it'd be handy, but I find I need a beat, rather than spoken word, to keep me motivated if I'm doing that.

Books, they feel better. If there is a word in it I don't understand I can just get out a dictionary and check it.

One of the things I enjoy most about books is that I can take it at my own pace. Audio books take that away.
I also just love reading; the characters sound and say things exactly how I want them to.
