Sure, we all have hate trains for things like Twilight, or other such but... Thats not really what I'm trying to say. I haven't yet seen a thread for books, so I propose to make one.

People of the Escapist, is reading something you do? If so, what is it? Fiction, non-fiction, whatever gets you going. Me, I like Sci-fi and Fantasy, more precisely Forgotten Realms, John Ringo, Weber, and Mercedes Lackey (and many, many others, being a zealous bibliophile). Anyone else like these, or other books? Heck, anyone have a really good reason for not loking books?

I spent about 3 hours today buried in The Broker by Grisham.

So yes, I read.

I read books made of Paper (They have made devices where you download books, so I mus be exact) It's what I do when I wish to take a break from gaming or my computer has utterly frustrated me.

I am going to start one of those Percy Jackson books soon, because I need a new read (Haven't read a book since 3rd quarter of '09)

I read what the school tells me to read, and which ever book interests me at the time.

Only a few books ever interest me though.

I read constantly. Every single day I read something, no matter how refined or childish.

I recently finished His Dark Materials for an English project, before that I read Artemis Fowl, before that it was Northanger Abbey, Frankenstein, High-Rise.

English literature uni student, I love the reading, I do.

I have found myself reading more history books lately. I've been reading Daniel Jones's "Summer of Blood" (about the Peasants' Revolt of 1381). Its a great book to curl up with.

I only read programming books, and a few other computer subjects.

But nothing fictional.

English major, so I just use Sparknotes.

No, kidding. I love reading. I have a bad habit of rereading my favorite books, so I don't read as many new books as I could, but I'm always reading something.

I just read The Average American Male in one sitting two days ago. It was mostly porn, but a hilarious read. If you're a guy and not easily offended, go check it out. If you're a girl, for your own sake, you're probably better off living in your fantasies.

Every two weeks I pick up soemthing from the library. I don't read any genre in particular, I just wander in and pick something that looks interesting. I'm currently reading Christine, by Stephen King.

Well, what else are you going to do with a book? (other than burn it)

I read mostly fiction, mystery, Sci-Fi/ Fantasy, and action (like Andy McNab novels).

If you like the Bartimaeus Trilogy I'd recommend David Weber and John Ringo's March Upcountry, March to the Sea, March to the Stars, and We Few. 1 is fantasy and the other military Sci-fi, but the humor is similar, and both are excellent reads. if you want to stay fantasy pick up anything written or co-written by/with Mercedes Lackey. I'd recommend Arrows of the Queen, Arrows Flight, ad Arrows Fall, first however. But as Mercedes Lackey is rather prolific... there are 20-30 books written solo by her, and another bunch co-written. Out of all prolific fantasy authors, she is the only one I have not found a single book below fantastic.
