So which do you play as most? What build did you go with? Let's just talk about classes.

I went with Siren. I enjoy elemental weapons too much, fire! Typically use anything with a high fire rate and good elemental damage. Also plague phoenix just looks too cool, how can you not go with flaming wings?

On a similar note, which classes do you see way too often or think are OP?

I think the variety is good, personally, but I know people like to complain, and it can lead to some good discussion about balance and builds--Who am I kidding? I see way too many Zeros. There, said it.

I play Zero for the same reason most people do.

Mysterious robot-alien-ninja-assassin dudes are badass.

Also he has the same name as Zero from Megaman..... and zero in Megaman is a fucking boss.

Though I will make a Mechromancer when she gets released.

I played Commando to have a similar experience to Borderlands 1 with Soldier. I am thoroughly pleased with my choice.

This all day!

In the first one the turret was more of your 1 stop shop for everything, it could give you ammo, protection and health ... it was a little weak but you counter that with skill mods, like if you were about to face skags you would stick fire elemental mod on it.

In this game the turret does straight up more damage but lacks any team work abilities.

The shield ability could be helpful, and the slag turret, thats probably about it as far as teamwork goes.

True.

The shield does drop off pretty quickly though. Slag is pretty useful, might actually mod my build so I can beat terramorphous more easily.

At the moment it's like a 1 in 10, maybe if I added slag it could help.

I'm playing as a Siren like I did in the last game and it's so much fun.

I've been having a lot of fun phase locking people and watch them all burst into flames, it's so ridiculous it's awesome. :D

I will be playing as a Mechromancer when it does come out, or when I feel like I've caused enough chaos as Maya.

Zero right now is my main, although i have to admit i find him disappointing. The last tiers in all 3 of his trees are pretty much crap, and his melee just does not scale (at least so far in the early 40's). sorry, but 50k crit melee attacks just does not cut it (har har) when i need a 200k crits to make even sniping viable since im being killed in 1-2 attacks.

I love sniping and i loved Mordecai in the first BL, but zero is a downgrade from mord. Granted Zero's action ability is more useful than Mord's, but Mord had 2.5 good trees whereas Zero has a half a tree in each tree.

Decoy's best use in TVHM is to pick up a fallen ally or to get an enraged goliath to stop following you so he attacks enemies and levels up.

I play with a commando friend, and his turret destroys entire armies and makes bosses easy by drawing aggro so we can unload 16 grenades on him. Right now im a hybrid sniper/cunning build using rockets and smgs.

I've been using the Gunserker as my solo and a Commando in co-op with a friend. For the Gunserker I was using the Gun Lust skill set but tonight I converted to Rampage. All I have to say about Rampage is Yipee Ki Yaay(best skill ever) Motherfuckers, I can Gunserk forever when it finally runs out it's ready to go again immediately.I accidentally got the "So Much Blood" achievement which was awesome. The Commando is alright. Just seen the skill tree for the Mechromancer looks cool as fuck, so chances are that will be my next character.

I main Maya at lv46, and I have a lv 16 Zero. I don't like zero much, it was crazy how much fun I went back to having when I switched back to Maya. I was going down the sniper tree, which meant I barely used Deception as invariably my targets would try to flank my decoy and run out of my line of fire.

Buzzards were particularly annoying as I didn't have phaselock and you literally can't adjust your aim through a scope fast enough to hit the crit spots since they never hold still.

I had to just use hip fire with my vladof.

Also my Maya has a homing fire bee grenade. Its the best thing I have ever gotten in loot by a wide margin. Not much survives one of them, but a whole swarm of bee spam it like using the RYNO in Ratchet and Clank.

I'm waiting for Gaige though. I'm already pretty sick of replaying the same missions for the 3rd time, so hopefully she will be worth the wait.

I played the Siren in the last game, and I loved her to death. Inflicting elemental damage on everyone was ridiculously effective, and I was fully exploiting the SMG's supremacy over all other weapon-types:

Slot #1: 4X Fire SMG
Slot #2: 4X Lightning SMG
Slot #3: 4X Acid SMG
Slot #4: Quadruple-spread SMG with ammo-respawn

(occasionally I'd mix it up with an electric shotgun, electric sniper-rifle, and corrosive revolver, but the SMGs would be back before too long)

...I also played some Mordecai; sniping was pleasurable as always, but my Siren was just too good.

I have yet to get Borderlands 2, but I fully expect Maya and I will be bestest-buds. Gaithe and Zero also intrigue me, though.

Zero in this game, and my god what a mistake that was. The first play through is just about manageable with him but the second play through on real vault hunter mode shows just how poor Zero is for my game play style.

See in the previous Borderlands game I would try taking out enemies from afar using the sniper rifle, hence why my Assassin sniper skill tree is totally full in BL2, in that game it was not so much of an issue as most bad guys would return fire from a range.

In BL2 though their are far too many heavy suicide, close range and tanks that just close the gap while absorbing fire, meaning that high rate of fire is good.

During a second play through of BL1 I found that Commando combined with SMG and Assualt Rifle along with high rate of fire and large clip sizes was total win, why I chose Zero when I should have gone for Axton is beyond me, but it has made my second playthrough much much harder than it should be. Also Zero's action skill is crap, at least using the skill set up I have. Axtons throws down a turret which becomes the focus of enemy fire. So it fires and you fire, twice as much ammo heading towards the enemy, that's before you add any skills to the skill tree. Zero on the other hand, you disappear your decoy attracts enemies for 5 seconds then you re appear and they resume kicking your butt. The decoy is useless until you put skills in to that allow you to actually do something with it and I just can't see it

a). Matching my play style or
b). Being powerful enough to justify sacrificing skills from the sniper skill tree!

I am now gonna hold off for the Mechromancer and start a new character with her, assuming of course Dishonored hasn't got my full attention by then.

I played with Roland as my main in the first game, so I started out with Axton this time too. I've got him up to 40ish while Zero and Maya are both at 15ish.

Dat turret man. Dat turret. I maxed out the guerilla tree and invested the rest in the survival one so I'm a tank that has a deployable second player that eats through anything in it's way. Overpowered? Nah, I can just one shot anything even if it's a few levels higher than me without expending any ammo. (it also reappears every thirty seconds, did I mention that?).

I do really like Zero and Maya too, but I find that both of their action skills just aren't that fun to use... it might just be the fact that I'm still level fifteen with them though.

My main is a level 43 Zero. I am not sure how to spec him anymore though. LOVED doing melee tree in first playthrough. Felt like a pure ninja. Tried respecing into sniper tree but I find it boring. I'm now half into sniper tree and half into cunning. Just using whatever guns I can find. As previous posts stated in TVHM deception is just used to rez my buddy who is playing a siren or run the hell away from goliaths. I am really upset that the melee tree turns almost useless in TVHM.

My alt is a level 38 gunzerker. I had so much fun being brawn spec in first playthrough and just tanking everything for my friend who was a commando. I was unkillable. Now I just get 2-3 shot. Changed to rampage for a bit. Thinking about changing to gunlust. Not really sure what would be more useful. Same situation as my Zero.

Still playing through as the Commando. I'm friggin loving Axton. I've gone pretty hard in to the Survival tree. It's allowing me to tank pretty effectively especially when utilizing my Badass points to bolster these capabilities. Once I get the two guns, I'll be going in to the Guerilla tree because rocket pads sound oh-so-fun.
