This is a simple topic, one of my Christmas presents is the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year edition so I was wondering which DLC should I played first once I had reach level 15 (I only had a small go on it at the moment due to family activities and work)?

Depending on how things goes I probably will maintain playing the story plot but I tend to be greedy when it come to the loots (I want the best loots before facing the final boss).

Also I'll appreciate any tips on how to played Axton (my chosen character since my mates who I will co op with aren't playing as him).

I'm the type of person that feels compelled to play things in order... so... yeah.

As for Axton, I built mine to focus primarily on his turret action skill. This is the build I was using:

http://www.bl2skills.com/commando.html#50550154015005014000055000155131

As I leveled I went down the Guerilla tree first, then the Gunpowder tree, and then the Survival tree.

The general idea was to give the turret the most firepower possible (extra shots per burst, increased accuracy, rocket pod, double guns, slag rounds, and ability to have two turrets down at once) and greatest utility possible (teleport to target rather than thrown, increased turret health, ability to stick to walls/ceilings so melee mobs can't hit it, shield).

As for gear, I focused on Sniper Rifles. Launch the turret, let it slag a bunch of enemies and draw their attention, then pick them off from a distance with Sniper Rifle critical hits. With talents giving passive damage to guns, damage to guns while the turret is out, and bonus damage against any targets that the turret has slagged... I never really had any problems killing anything. I generally stuck to high normal damage sniper rifles from Jakobs, but I also carried around a Fire and Corrosive sniper rifle as well, and the highest damage rocket launcher I could find for "oh shit" moments. For grenades I like Longbow Slag Bouncing Betties, but that's just my preference. For class mod I liked Engineer, since it further buffed my turret's damage potential beyond what I'm allowed in the skill tree and further reduces the cooldown. For the Relic slot I usually used a Sniper Rifle damage buff. For shield I typically used whichever one had the highest amount of shields to get the most out of my shield buffing talents (and since ideally I'm far from any real danger, so the vast majority of the damage I take will be against my shields rather than my health).

Hope that helps!

Normally I'd suggest Tiny Tina's DLC, but you haven't finished the main story, so I'm gonna go with Captain Scarlett's DLC.

It's pretty fun and you can get some pretty nice loot at the end. I know I snagged a pretty awesome SMG for my Siren, and a really good shield as well.

I really haven't played the other DLC like Mr. Torque and the others, but Captain Scarlett is good place to story. Tiny Tina's DLC is just gonna spoil some things for you if you haven't beat the game, or near it at the very least.

Tiny Tina's is definitely the best of the bunch, but you'll want to wait until you beat the main plot. So... Scarlett I guess.

Torgue's is my favourite. Both Pirate's and Tina's are pretty good. The only one to avoid is Hammerlock's, which is dismal and boring. Level 15 though? I've never done any of them at that level, so I don't know how the scaling works. Usually I'd say go through the main campaign first, which should get you to about level 30, then do one expansion before going to TVHM. No idea if the DLCs scale to your level or not, but they're fit for level 30 when you first finish normal mode.

Capt. Scarlet can get you a decent SMG called the Sand Hawk. Combine this, with a halfway decent Bee shield (even as nerfed as it is) and you won't have many issues killing what comes your way. Just try not to get hit. She also carries the Greed, which is a handy revolver type weapon, usually with the fire element. Furthermore, you have the chance at the Little Evie (if you can kill the Big Daddy without harming the Little Sister (I know, Bioshock reference)), which usually carries the electric element. Fairly early on, you can find (just lyin around being all gun like) the Lascaux, but beware, this gun is usually scaled to the level of the enemies where it can be found, and can also be a bullet waster.

If you get high enough in levels, you can always try Master Gee and Hyperius... they'll make sure you have a challenge.

God damn it. OP really should have specified which Borderlands he was talking about. I came in here hoping he was talking about both games.

Hammerlocks is tough if you aren't leveled enough for it. I would beat the game & play DLC's In order personally, but its mostly down to personal pref...

I'd play them in the order of their release since the later ones would spoil the main story.

As for Axton, I like an explosives focused build. Pro tip: the skills that say they increase your grenade damage increase the gun damage for Torque weapons. Get a nice Torque load out and invest in all of the skills that help your explosive damage. I'd you plan on using him on later playthroughs you should go down the left tree too so that you can get the slag rounds for your turret.

Assault on Dragon Keep is the best, but the best shield for Salvador and Krieg comes from Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt.

They're all pretty good. I recommend getting them if they're cheap.

I'd echo the idea of playing the DLC in order, as it's all good (except for Hammerlock's).

Assault on Dragon Keep is probably the best DLC campaign, but Torgue's isn't far behind it and has some easy to get legendary weapons.

My advice for how to build an Axton? You'll NEED the turret survivability talents - they die in just a few hits without them, and even with them they're squishy as hell. I wish I could be more specific, but I haven't played my Axton since I hit level 50 (the old cap) with him, since he's comparatively speaking a rather weak character.

Thanks for the tips and advice so far!

Mmm from the sound of the DLC, I probably won't touch them when I hit level 15 and I guess I played them in order althought I may try Tiny Tina DLC first due to some people suggestion.

As for Axton, well so far I had mainly been using sniper rifle (I'm good with the aim most of the time), rifle and pistol (one of handcannon was useful against those ice creature). I haven't really touch the shotgun or smg yet.

Yeah, Hammerlock's is sadly the worst of the bunch. My main gripe is with the level design/map layout though; the no-vehicle maps feel too big and the Catch-a-Ride stations on the maps that do have vehicles are poorly placed.
So if Axton has a skill that increases run speed, you should skill that :p
I thought it was still fun, but at times also rather tedious.

On the other DLCs... I'd say go for Scarlett's Booty, if I remember correctly, it has the least connections to the main storyline, so you could play it at any point. Tiny Tina's Assault yields pretty big spoilers for the main story, so you should play that after you finished that (you could also start your 2. playthrough with it).
Now that I think of it, Mr Torgue, who gets introduced in his own DLC, plays a minor role in Tiny Tina's Assault, so you should probably play Torgue's before Tina's.

So, tl;dr:

1. Scarlett's Booty
-. Main Story finished
2. Torgue's Campaign
3. Tiny Tina's Assault

Edit: Hammerlock's Hunt whenever you like it ;-)

after you finish the story definitely Tiny Tina's! I also enjoyed Torque's very much, can't remember if it has story spoilers though. Scarlett's Booty was pretty ok but I didn't even finish Hammerlock's hunt, although I probably will eventually.
