I'm going to go with Bowser on this one. Tanks are easily taken out by molotov cocktails, and Bowser is just one big source of fire.

I suppose the question here is if the tank is more like a Baneblade or a looted Lemen Russ? One must ask these things.

I suppose if you meant a normal, boring real life tank, it would still win, though. I dare a Bowser to stop an artillery shell with his organic spiky shell.

Wait, is this discussion about the tanks on Left 4 Dead, or real-life tanks?

Great, now my heads gonna explode...
I'm assuming real life tanks. My point being, even if a tank didn't have to reload until it ran out of shells, Bowser could get to within 20 feet of the guy, retreat into his shell like he does in Bowser's Inside Story, and wait until the enemy has wasted all of their rounds shooting over his head.

Or he could just, y'know, send a platoon of bo-ombs to blow the tank up or something.
I meant the Tanks from Left 4 Dead. Didn't I put that in the first post?

you compare both if they were backed up then the tank would win, I mean they fight big whoop bowser could get infected and then you would have mega zombie bowser. I mean the only gun in mario is that water sprayer.

I'd have to agree that Bowser would come out on top, due to the fire thing. As any L4D player worth their medkit will tell you, a tank in Single Player or Co-Op will only last about 45 seconds after being set alight, assuming it starts at full health.

People seem to forget that Bowser breathes fire.

What's the first thing you do when you see a tank?

Set him on fucking fire.

Let's be honest here, if a fat italian plumbing midget can throw that giant turtle dinosaur fifty metres without a sweat, think what a tank could do.

Bowser.

Why? He's still alive. He has survived lava, the afterlife, explosions, black holes, fireballs, eggs, magic, etc.

Tanks are numerous. 7 untrained civilians and 1 ex-soldier have beaten dozens. They die from bullets and are doomed once set ablaze. Bowser breathes fire and spits fireballs. He wins.

Any L4D player worth their salt would reply with the fact that Tanks don't lose health from fire, they simply die after a certain timer (45 or 60, I forget) counts down.

Depends on the realism level of both participants.

Real tanks have shots that will melt through reinforced steel [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_explosive_anti-tank_warhead] before exploding.
Game tanks may have shots that take off half a heart from a meter of 20 hearts.

Real Bowser would be something like a turtle crossed with a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Well armored as any of nature's creations, but not much of a match against human engineering.
Game Bowser is made out of pure cartoonium, a rubbery material as limited as the human imagination, and doesn't let a little thing like falling into hot lava stop him from plotting his next plot to kidnap Princess Peach.

Real tank versus real Bowser? HEAT rounds versus a bony shell, Bowser explodes into turtle meat.
Game tank versus game Bowser? Bowser shrugs off the tanks puny shots, tosses it into a nearby pool of lava, and flexes his muscles.
Real tank versus game Bowser? That's a good question. Honestly, these things are wholly incompatible to be on the same plane of reality.

[Edit:] Oh wait, you mean Left4Dead 2 Tank. A closer match since they're both game characters, but it's still a tough comparison because of the relative realism involved.

A Left4Dead 2 tank is a shambling biological zombie abomination. Bowser's a cartoon turtle dragon. You have to translate one to the other's realm to get a good comparison off, and in doing so lose the detail of what made that thing that thing in the first place.

Cartoon versus cartoon, the fight can go on forever.
Meat versus meat, it comes down to a question of scale and capabilities. Bowser's got fire breath and a spiked shell, but how much muscle does he have compared to a Tank?

As if their relative sizes weren't unclear enough, Bowser can apparently do this:
If it went meat versus meat, there's a question if he could still do that, but if so I'm pretty sure he could take a tank.

Bowser shoots flame and stomps on things.
The M1A1 Abrams is immune to any flame that isn't nuclear and is built so tough that a 20 story building can collapse on top of it without doing more than scratching the paint. It can fire 75mm depleted uranium anti-tank shells accurately from farther away than Bowser can see.

I'm going with the tank.

Bowser he spits fire and has spikes
The basic facts here have their merit, BUT...there is a glitch where creatures like the Tank and the Queen become invincible if set on fire. Bowser burning a Tank would be his own undoing. But uhh...other than that, he's a shelled lizard, dude. Like a small-scale Godzilla...

Bowser. You kill a Tank with Molotovs and bullets, so Bowser can light him up and just go into his shell until the Tank dies.

Considering what I did to an entire team of survivors yesterday as tank within the course of about 30 seconds, I'd have to say tank.

Bowser, he may not have the tank's raw strength and resilience, but he is much faster and can breathe fire.
oooh, wrong methinks, bowser is ten times stronger and more resilient than a tank, and if anything i think a tank would be faster! nah bowser all the way! we could cleave through their shells like tin foil!

(btw, this is a vs thread, *tut* *tut*)

Oh. I didn't really catch that one. Sorry, I haven't played L4D, so I don't have an opinion on that side of the discussion.
