Hi everyone! This is the first time I've ever posted a forum on the Escapist (although I've read them voraciously) so I hope I'm doing this right :p. Anyway, I was thinking about the upcoming Brothers in Arms Furious 4 and I became curious as to the general opinion of the Escapist readers as to its new direction. If there's already thread for this I'm sorry, I'm still new to this :p.

It looks interesting. Never been into the previous BiA games. They always looked like bland MoH clones to me. At least GearBox is trying to make WWII interesting again and not so damn stale.

It looked pretty cool, but the problem is its not a BiA game, if they launched it as a new IP which is what it looks like it probably wouldn't be receiving so much bad attention

Looks horrible. Seems like a lot of companies are trying their luck with 4 player co-op now.
And this one looks bad.

The best things about the Brothers in Arms games were the authenticity, the way they didn't shy away from the brutality and nastiness of war, and (in stark contrast to the bland team-mates of MoH and COD), the way they invested you in the lives of your squadmates, so you worked damn hard to keep them alive.

To paraphrase my response on the other thread, this seems like a played-for-laughs Tarantinoesque game: which is no bad thing, but not Brothers in Arms

They spend ages building up this great series based on emotional maturity and recognising the horrors of war, and then decide the next step will be to ape Borderlands?

Come on.

Looked okay, but since it basically has nothing to do with the actual BIA series, they should have given it a different name.

They still look like a grim, straight-faced, predictable WWII FPS's to me. Played enough of those in my life, not really itching to play another, "solid characters" (of which I'm probably sure a bunch get killed off) and "authenticity" notwithstanding.

This one I may check out because, like I said, it looks different, like it has a sense of humor about itself.
