As much as I hate to admit it, hypocrisy has its place, and apparently, suicide-instigating bullies are a good time to start the hypocrisy-pinwheel-of-justice.

Admittedly, the article does point out that most of the comments aren't reflections of the people because, "It's the internet", which I found admirable, but when they start putting up their address and stuff, I think they are getting just a little bit too close to being in the wrong (too close, not over the line).

I can understand why people would want bully these... people, but I don't think they should.
Don't sink to their level, the court will take care of em'.

let's put it this way: how would you feel about a molester getting molested?
i approve the "eye for an eye" thing.

What goes around comes around! Ever hear the song Date Rape? (Sublime covered it, that wasn't they're original song, was it?) In that song a guy rapes a girl, goes to prison, and then gets raped by the inmate that shares his cell.

Everyone knows of the sad case of Pheobe Prince's suicide after relentless bullying from girls in her year.

It seems the trolls have came out in force against them.

Question is, is it right to bully them back or are people just lowering themselves to their standards?

I say they deserve it myself.
Not by trolls, but by someone in real life!

Yeah I say bully them back, you reap what you sow. But then again I just ended a WH 40k session so I'm a bit biased at the moment. >.>

I was originally going to say that knowing they were responsible for the death of a girl is punishment enough, but I did some further reading and found that after Phoebe died, terrible things continued to be posted about her on her Facebook memorial page. You'd think they'd feel some remorse.

Anyway, they're all underage so they're going to get off without any jail time. Because of this, I believe entirely that Anonymous and internet trolls should do their absolute worst to them. There comes a point where you have to choose between "don't sink to their level" and "this is fucking wrong; they deserve worse than they're going to get", and in this case, I choose the latter.

Bullies become bullies because they were bullied in the first place. I see no reason to bully them any farther. In fact, I'm pretty sure that deep down inside, despite the fact that it seems like they enjoy tormenting others, they're probably suffering too. Bullies are still human beings.

So essentially it's like some sort of vicious cycle. Though some people have the patience to resist becoming a bully despite their misfortunes.
The bullies are already getting what they deserve...either now, or later on in their futures. What goes around comes around.

I don't know who, if anyone, is qualified to say what these kids deserve.

All I know is that if they get bullied/trolled to Hell and back I won't lose any sleep over it.

I bullied bullies at my school. The fact that I was the only one to strike back was such a shock to them, a few just disappeared. I think it would be best if all unjust bullies died.

so it's ok to do nasty things to someone as long as they did it to someone else first?

hooray for anonymous mob justice! where right and wrong is determined by people who'll never have to face the consequences of anything they do.
Damn straight pal. Glad to see people are starting to get the right idea.

To be honest, I think that's a myth. I'd say at least 90% of people bully because they're assholes and because they can get away with it and they never think they'll have to face the consequences.

As much as we'd like to think people have deep complex motivations to justify what they do, a lot of people are just jerks and don't give a fuck about other people. I know that most of the people I know who bullied others didn't have any history of being victimised. They just thought that they were superior to other people and that this entitled them to treat other people like shit.

What that article fails to realize is that trolls, by definition, don't mean what they say. They just want to stir up controversy. So, calling them trolls and then claiming that they pose a real threat contradicts itself.

Can't really feel bad for them, especially for being such disgraceful human beings.
That said... the cycle still hasn't ended. Bullying only begets bullying

I say just order pizzas nonstop to the bully's house for some good lulz.
And the occasional egging and possibly setting fire.
