I just wanted to know peoples thoughts on this topic.

I think it happens to everyone but it shouldnt have to. Please write your experiences and how you dealt with them.

I had a really bad bullying experience in England. I went to the teachers but they never helped me. I was glad when I came back to the US. I had a new life.

EDIT: The worst part was when this kid threw SHARPENED colored pencils at my head. (like I was a bullseye) He laughed evilly when I cried in pain. That was the worst: Him finding joy in my misery.

Yeah, I've come across pretty bad bullying in my lifetime, mostly because of Asperger Syndrome (I don't regret having it though!)

Its certainly made me develop a thicker skin against those types of people... but I'm still perfectly (well... overly) friendly to other people :3

Got bullied once I think. Told my parents. They got punished. Then they got nice to me.

Pathetic bullies is what they are!

Only really got bullied by one person, and I stood up to her.
It's kinda funny to see her now, years later, a whole lot fatter and more miserable than she was in high school.

At any rate, the fact that she didn't react very likely contributed to my ego/arrogance.

I try not to bully people, but sometimes I just give in to peer pressure. I was bullied for about half a year, so I know how it makes you feel.

Teachers do nothing. (Well, teachers in England at least)
In the end I hit the guy over the head with a chunk of branch
Thrice.

I suppose it could be said I was bullied. The little dipshit midget kept trying to get in fights with me, he'd continually lose then ask his 18-year-old friend to come and beat me up. Good times.

It pisses me the hell off. I was bullied a lot in school, and I tried to kill one of them. Almost did too. Got in a lot of trouble for that.

Thankfully the police were nice enough to let it slide.
I did not know that. o_O You tell the interblags before me?

I have been severely bullied since I was about 10, in and out of school, and it's been the main contributor (along with Furburt to me be being a complete nutcase now.

I was bullied a bit. I was bullied because I was tall. I'm 6ft 3 inches now while my friends are still only 5 ft something. Well one day (back in Primary school, I'd say about 5-6 years ago) This kid X kept picking on me as he always did. I was so pissed off that twisted his arm and nearly broke it. Don't remember much though. They then were a bit scared to talk to me but when people listened to me they found out I was actually quite a funny guy to be with and I made new friends.

Now I never get bullied because of that incident.

We're all banned from defending ourselves for some completely incomprehensible reason. We have a flamboyantly shite Justice Department. Teachers are also probably told something shit to get away from doing anything.

OT: Luckily enough, the group of friends I hang around with is the type that pretty much keeps to itself, and bands together against anyone hostile. Luckily, bullies are most likely lazy and cowardly, so they don't bother us.

I went through a particularly hellish first three years of comprehensive. One guy in particular singled me out, called me names, hunted me down at breaks and lightly beat me up. You know, the usual. My teachers and even my friends did fuck all, despite them knowing about it and even witnessing it on occassion. I mean, he'd even do stuff like that in class. The worst bit was where I got locked in the fenced off football court, where he beat me up to a cheering crowd.
Thankfully, I fell in with a good crowd who helped me gain a little confidence and stand up for myself. Things tapered off at this point.

Does bullying change people? Of course it does.
It made me into a quick witted sarcastic cynic. It helped me develop a thicker skin to insults and pain.

England's anti-bullying rules don't seem to do shit for the victims...

Oh, I wasn't allowed to defend myself. I did anyway, and the teachers thanked me for whacking him a few times. Heh. They knew he was bullying people, but couldn't do anything.
I think the bully called me crazy afterwards. Heh, he was the only one who truly knew :D
