You're kidding, right? Kidding, or you haven't played it recently and claim too. Even people who hate WoW have to admit that it has changed dramatically over the years. It's a constant changing universe.
There's a difference between getting bigger and changing.
And WoW has done both.

Feel free to try it, but its very likely that once you hit the level cap you will realize you spent TONS of time repeating the exact same spell combo to kill each enemy since lvl 20.
Also it really doesn't take any skill to reach lvl 80. You'll get there eventually even if you don't know what your spells do (seriously, my fiancée got to lvl 60 and had no idea what any of her skills did and just button mashed. She was doing dungeons and everything and nobody noticed)
Finally wow is still the same wow with more of the same content. Theres new lands with more collect x of y for z xp or kill x y's for z xp. New dungeons with drops that have slightly better stats than what you had before... i doubt it will ever change.

Don't do it man, it's a parasite.

Or so everyone says, I found it rather boring myself.
Me as well.

I don't like games usually where you just queue up attacks and watch them render. I prefer games where there is actually some skill involved and realtime input on the player's part, even if it's something as simple as "Timed Hits" like in Mario RPG. Grinding for the sake of grinding is only good on the dance floor.

With the huge amount of games out for consoles I can see the argument for both getting WoW and not. I leveled up a toon to 80 then realized that most of the time it was time spent just grinding for gear or xp. It get's boring. Fast.

All that being said, you can switch back and forth between factions, try different races and classes and it's a whole heck of a lot cheaper than getting a new game for any of the consoles every month.

If you have a free trial, check it out. If not, I wouldn't worry about it much.

Do eeeet. Do eeeeet.

Actually, be careful with WoW. I got it a month ago, had to have a friend smuggle it into my house for me, and some days, I'm addicted as hell, and others, it bores me.

Do it do it do it do it!
I guess it wont be the end of the world if i try.
you say that now, but just wait until you're hooked, waiting for the next patch to come out, drinking gallons of Mountain Dew a day, washing down thousands of pounds of junk food a week, all the while endlessly searching message boards for the next little shred of information that will get your next character to the next level just a little bit faster, until you accidentally click on the wrong link, sending nuclear warheads out to every other country on Earth, thereby starting the end of the world.

Then you tell tell us if it was worth it.

Try the free trial for the sake of doing so, but give your self a treat and buy something else that is fresh, nice and isn't Modern Grayfare or Call of Brown...

...stuff.
So this,(Even though I quite enjoy abit of WoW here and there on my friends account)

Human huntard here i come!

Try it out, it may cause a cataclysmic even that demolishes the world but... why not, just for the fuck of it.

Dude, ehm... this is a rather bad time to say something like that... especially since:

Deathwing's return has had an immeasurable impact throughout the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Players will notice drastically altered terrain, thousands of new quests from levels 1-55, and updated level ranges for some zones to improve the questing flow.

New Race/Class Combinations
In the wake of a world on the brink of destruction, members of the Horde and Alliance have taken to new cultures and studies, mastering crafts previously foreign to them. Many existing playable races now have new class combinations. Check the official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm website for a breakdown of the new combinations.

TL;DR: It's a new game.

Also, OP, if you want to and can afford to, go for it. But the sale only lasts for five days or so.
If it answers your question - I quit about 5 months ago. I was also maining an RP realm with a strong cling on PvP, PvE and RP. So... nope! Nothing changed, still the usual high-school-like regime of attention whores.

No - I believe it's called a -reskin-. A -remake-, an addition/expansion/homage/adoring, is -not- a new game. They did some improvements, but it's still the stale old Warcraft and will be exhausted once everyone reaches 85 and plows through the first instance.
It's the same Horde and Alliance, only with some horrible plot twists. It's the same world, only turned to Northrend graphical updates and storylines no one will bother reading. It's also the same gameplay, that has been licked up to the point of turning rotten.

Now that I think about it, Extra Credits recently released an episode concerning this. Give it a look, fanboy.

The only thing remotely worth it in WoW is the pvp. And even that only on a twink level, since that's when gear doesn't really matter anymore(everyone has the same). That's about all that is skill based in the entire game, the rest is just another skinner bow, like them guys at extra credits already said.

Then again, if you like that kind of stuff, rewards for time investment instead of skill, go for it.

No it's not. If it was the same WoW that came out 6 years ago then the MMORPG's coming out today would be beating it into the ground. How much the game has grown and changed is unbelievable, and in fact the old stuff that has been the same for 6 years just got blown up and seriously changed this week.

Unless you was being ironic, then sorry, I'm having a slow day.

So you haven't played Cataclysm, then? So your knowledge isn't up to date? Do you admit that?

No - I believe it's called a -reskin-. A -remake-, an addition/expansion/homage/adoring
Uhh... wrong. It has been remade. Not reskinned. Well, it has been reskinned too, but it has also been remade. About.. what was it, 50% of content, not maps, but quests, talent trees, specs have been removed and replaced. That is something being remade. With original content if I do say so myself.

Now that I think about it, Extra Credits recently released an episode concerning this.
Escapist has also released a few videos detailing the changes, why don't you check them out? Also, in that video WoW was mentioned... once? As an example?

Give it a look, fanboy.
Rather a fanboy, who is proud to have enjoyed something, than a hater. I can understand if it isn't your thing, but that doesn't give you the right to discourage others who could possibly enjoy it. At least some of the people here who don't enjoy WoW told him about the free trial.

I started WoW when it first came out and have played on and off ever since. It definitely feels like a different game in many ways now than five years ago...I wonder if I'd still enjoy it now the same way as back then if I happened on it for the first time?

Meh....if you don't like WoW, go try DDO. I love that one, heartily reccommend it!
