The new Bioware announcement is probably going to be a new mercenaries or a new command and conquer, what do you guys think? And what do you want?

I would personally prefer a mercenaries because I am still hating EA for killing pandemic, and putting one of my favorite studios in charge of one of my favorite franchises would be a dream come true. I also think it is more likely a mercenaries game due to the released screenshot having a focus on a single dude, with an ammo belt on one shoulder, flying out of an exploding car seeming about as mercenaryey (?) as you can get.

I'll vote C&C, simply because Bioware + Red Alert's ridiculous oversexing would be a sight to see.

Command and Conquer is being handled by Victory Games, so it's not that. Whether or not it's Mercenaries or something else though I have no idea.

I'm going to go ahead and say Command & Conquer. I mean, yeah, they stuffed up C&C4 but C&C3 (expansion included) was still cool and so was Generals: Zero Hour. I'm sure that, assuming it's a C&C game, they might do it right this time.

Key word: might.

If not, us C&C fans will just have another reason to ***** at them. :p

Oh heck yes. C&C needs a bit of revival after those two awful, AWFUL games.

Really? *to Wikipedia!*

... ah, you're right. Well, then. C&C it definitely isn't.

EA was at work on the game Tiberium. Bioware could very well make good on those resources. The C&C franchise actually has a rather fascinating and somewhat unique storyline. Even Nintendo thought tiberium was an interesting enough concept and ripped it off completely in their Metroid series.

Red Alert is too campy to make into something with a decent storyline. Then again, if anyone can pull it off, it's Bioware or Valve.
C&C Generals is just EA trying to be Starcraft and it's not a real C&C game.

Maybe we'll have some resolution to the catastrophe that was Red Alert 3 and the abomination that was C&C4.

The first Mercenaries was my favorite game of all time. Seriously. This series needs more love.

I seriously do not understand why so many people hated Red Alert 3. It was silly as fuck and rightfully so.

I'm voting neither because I don't want to see Bioware touch either of the series. Mercenaries was Pandemic's crown before they were murdered/assimilated/dismantled by EA. Either Pandemic comes back from the dead to make it, or leave it alone.

I really enjoyed Red Alert 3. It's C&C 4 that makes me want to line up the development team and shoot them.

CnC all the way. Mercenaries 1 was fun, but nothing special. Mercenaries 2 was a complete shitbag.

CnC has always been good, apart from the 3 latest instalments (3, 4 and RA3).

I would LOVE to see a 3DS remake of the original CnC Gold or Red Alert: Retaliation. I'd also love to see a sequel to Generals, the underdog of the franchise.

If Bioware make a Mercenaries game then they'll probably put a romance option between Mattias and Fiona or something like that.

Hmm. Never have played C&C. That being said, I played and loved the hell out of both Mercenaries games, so I would be ecstatic if it were a new Mercenaries game.

I am, however, hesitant about this. It will be interesting to see how Bioware handles the third installment of a series whose previous two titles really only had two things in common: airstrikes and destructo-physics. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Bioware mostly do single player RPG's? Mercenaries doesn't really have many of those qualities (Stat building, leveling, upgrading, moral choice systems, what-have-you), so it doesn't seem like the type of game Bioware would make.

I hope it is C&C, it needs a revival after the terrible mess that was 4. I felt that it needed to evolve after C&C 3 and Red Alert 3 but 4 was C&C in name only. Changes to the formula should feel like a natural progression instead of a meh, lets try this game instead.

I've watched the other Halo fans complain that Reach was not 'Halo' or that it was a good game but not a 'Halo' game and they make me laugh every time. As a fan of both Halo and C&C I kind of wish some of these Halo fans had been hardcore C&C fans when C&C 4 was being developed. Oh, man the fuss.

Anyways, I would be really interested to see what Bioware would do with the property. However I'm not really holding onto the hope that it will be a C&C game, but I don't have a problem with surprises either.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Red Alert 3, as well. I'd love to see a new Red Alert installment. Soviet war blimps vs. transformers vs. shotgun-toting riot-geared cowboys pretty much makes for the greatest battle ever.

AND DON'T YOU PEOPLE PULL THAT NOT A REAL FAN LINE ON ME, I AM THE PROUD OWNER OF RED ALERT 2 AND I ADORE BOTH IT AND THE THIRD INSTALLMENT

I would prefer Star Wars: Battlefront 3, since at least a couple Pandemic people are still at Bioware. But I see EA will never listen to me...

If Bioware's too busy, I say let EA and LucasArt's new partnership develop so that EA can ask DICE to make Battlefront 3. But that's also pretty damn far-fetched.

EDIT: Scratch that last part. I see LA's already chosen someone else for that job. Potentially...

I want it to be Mercenaries but it will most likely be Alpha Protocol 2. Y'know, Bioware's modern day espionage RPG set in da REAL TIMEZ!1! Aplha Protocol 2 is probably the best bet and I'm surprised I'm the only one who has made this connection.
