This has been done before, I'm sure of it. 100% sure. But I'm gonna do it again. :D

So, do you all on the Escapist like CoD?

Yeah, I love it - even though it drives me mad sometimes.

The campaigns are great and action packed and the multiplayer is always just those few tweaks away from being amazing.

Plus I've never played a shooter that felt better to control.

It's not a bad game, even when they come out with new, samey ones. It's just overpriced and overrated.
And all the people that have copied off of it fail to realize it's not the overall concept that garners attention, but the close-up feel of the way the weapons react under usage.

Yes, basically, i love it. But i love TF2, too :p
I find the over the top action in the single player great fun and challenging on Veteran. Multiplayer can be tons of fun when played with friends, but you just have to not let the game make you angry... Some of my friends get ridiculously angry when they die thanks to a overpowered weapon or a stupid kill. I've noticed i don't get angry (well, at least not as often) if i just run and gun, don't stop to worry about the killstreaks. And if i get into a killing frenzy, it's just pure amazing fun.
So, yeah. That's me 2 cents.

i left MW2 due to all its issues a few years back, but over time my hatred of it eased off. A few days back i saw some of my friends were playing it, so rather than play BFBC2 i joined them... i didnt even manage 2 games before i left again due to:
-people running through shotgun shots and stabbing me
-snipers being used at close range
-Grenades everywhere!!!
-poor spawns
you get the idea

so in short, no i dont like call of duty

Ah me... here we go.

To answer the question, no, not really.

I actually think the multiplayer is pretty good, although it's really not my thing.

I think the single player is rubbish. Yes, there was that one cool scene in MW1, but that's nowhere near enough to redeem the entire series in my eyes.

Well I liked the cods up to WaW, Mw2 was a disgrace and Black ops was ok.

Does that count as neutral?

I enjoy the fast-paced gameplay and the blockbuster-style, over the top campaigns.

I don't like the 'community', or rather I don't like those in the community that ruin the multiplayer for others - i.e. boosters, hackers, campers, quick-scopers etc.

You took the words right out of my mouth. My only problem with it is that it is so good. Because it is one of the best games out they can charge £45-50 for it and people (incl me) will still buy it. Then it's another £10 for each DLC.

Yes. I have recently been persuaded to play through these, and they are awesome as hell.

You get to jump off a fucking mountain in one. Playing them is like playing a truly outstanding action movie. They aren't particularly long in the campaign, but they make up for it in adrenaline.

Yes I do. Although i hated black ops, MW2 was ok but the fact the PC didn't have dedicated servers ruined it from becoming a decent game despite some of the fail bugs etc etc, and world at war was only good for zombies. But cod 4 and cod 2 were so good, with cod4 being one of my favourite fps' ever, probably only behind halo CE.

I think Call of Duty peaked at Modern Warfare, then just fell off a bloody cliff.

I'm pretty much with this. I enjoy the games, but there is always one thing that will lead to some form or rage. With MW2 it was one man army and noobtubes, with Black Ops it was that lovely hit detection system where I could put half of my clip in, and on the killcam I never shot.

Black Ops would be amazing if it could take MW2's flawless frame-rates and hit detection.

I'm just hoping that those few tweaks needed in MW3 won't be as bad as the last few games have been, because you know they're going to be there.

I like the series, its great when you want to play a quick game with friends and you can just jump into a game almost instantly. I much preferred black ops to MW2 though since Bops at least tries to cut some of the stupid ideas of MW2 (infinite claymores and noobtubes with scavenger for example.
Plus the PC version of the game has dedicated servers which is a godsend and should be a requirement for any MP shooter nowadays COD or otherwise and for every platform. P2P is so stupid when the host can just quit out and ruin eveyones gameplay.

That said this whole subscription thing for MW3 IW and Activision can cram up their backsides , im not paying for something that is avaiable free already and in other titles. Plus the greedy fucks make enough money out of people.

Plus this whole map pack thing for £12 is obscene if all the DLCs for Bops so far were in one package for £12 I would buy it but not paying for each one when it only has 4 maps in it.
