This poll has actually surprised me a bit seeing as I thought multiplayer would be the clear winner here. Guess there are more people like me than I thought. Keep voting people!

I haven't gone on live since my first experience, I killed this guy 3 times then he killed me after some guy got me to crap all health and spent 20 minutes talking about how he was "The Champ" and i was a "noob", beat him another couple of times, annoying li'l B^$tard, can't go on since then so the game needs a good campaign.

Campaign all the way, I don't even use multiplayer, ever; I know some of you would say that I'm missing out, but multiplayer just doesn't compel me enough; I use XBOX live for game downloads and other DLC.

Halo and CoD4 had both great single player and multiplayer, so I liked those. Orange Box balances by splitting the games, which could be interesting for other series to try and do. Make a SP in one universe that wouldn't be a good MP, like say Bioshock, then use the engine in a different setting for MP and maybe keep some of the same ideas (Like TF2, you could spec out different plasmids or gun upgrades...)

Crysis has a GREAT single player, the mp is tacked on "eh" to me.

MP does make the game if it that's what it's made for. CS:S, TF2, UT3, and more.

I think game developers need to start putting back great single player campaigns.

ONLINE.DOES.NOT.MAKE.A.GAME.

It can make a good game great, it can make a bad game fair. It can NOT make a shitty game a good one.

Right, which is why Battlefield, Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, World of Warcraft, and Guild Wars have been monumental failures and totally aren't considered some of the greatest or most well known games of all time, despite their lack of single-player.

I think you should try again.
True true, but i see at a point where he is coming from. There are games yes which themselves are based completely around multiplayer, which fair enough means its a multiplayer game, but when it comes to COD4 and things like that i know people who havent even tried the campaign due to there love for multiplayer.

And i agree there seems to be a lack of effort going towards singleplayer now. Multiplayer is good if you can cooperatively complete a campaign though i do like COD4 and GTA online.

I am not all that fond of online multiplayer, unless it is pre-arranged with friends. I like knowing who I'm accusing of cheating so I can throw something at them later. I prefer local multiplayer, but my main deal is campaign or co-op. I really wish there was a proper multiplayer for Metroid Prime 3 though...
