Poll: Can a computer game character be sexy?

I guess so, but sexy is a very varied thing, some men like women like this:

While others would prefer a girl more like this:

It all depends on standards and particularly in the former caterogry she was clearly designed for the sake of being sexy whereas the the latter she was just mildly attractive. My point is that I guess it depends on what your definition of sexy is. Also someone once pointed out to me that maybe the reason things like Hentai and big boobed lasses are so popular is because there is a simple realisation that they can NEVER exist in a real world. Big boobs like that plus a sleek slender frame and gorgeous face? Simply impossible, hence being attracted to the former simply means that you are attracted to the strange fantsy whereas the latter is real life.
I guess I would say the 'real life' angle is less popular because people play games for the sake of fantasy, sexual or otherwise.

It is of little consequence to me as after my first sexual encounter I realised I was in fact asexual.

Attractive means nice to look at, i.e. an attractive shade of lilac. Whereas sexy can mean a whole lot more..

Pretty much. "Sexy" generally means a certain look and attitude.
To me, anyway.

Well...I, personally have never look at a flower and said to myself, "what an attractive shade of lilac"...erm, at least not without stopping myself mid-sentence.

Any depiction of a human being (or god help us animal/vegetable/mineral) that yields a response sexually can be broadly classed as "sexy". The crux of this thread though if you have every formed a deluded infatuation over a video game character. With the growth in future game's immersion through the user's ever more powerful influence, and the increased reality of the graphical depictions of the user's object of desire; the likelyhood of infatuation may grow.

Think Ghost in the Shell 2 but with fewer iWhores.

Yes. The part of the brain that deals with sexual arousal and such has no idea that the image is digital, or what digital means, or what the hell an image is for that matter. All it does is look for certain cues and if what your seeing fits them you'll get aroused if it sticks around long enough for it to click.

Photos and paintings and even text (though in thta case your mentally creating the image)can do the same thing for the same reason, the meduim it's in doesn't mean squat.

I was afraid of this. In an ever-shrinking society where more and more people find themselves utterly lonely, they form attachments to video game characters. I mean, sure, I've had that thought that, "after all that s**t I went through, I better see her taking something off", but berated myself for it later, and never started writing erotic fan-fiction which is about as low as you can get. Seriously, those people'll be chumming it up with those transparent fish at the bottom of the ocean who never see a shred of sunlight.

I have seen some good looking characters for sure... I wouldnt say that they are sexy though. To me that would require personality as well as aesthetics.

Yes, game characters can be very sexy. Taking into account today's graphics, a game character can be striking beautiful and damn photorealistic.
