It won't change anything, the damage's already done. Torchlight 2 shall rule forever (or until the third one arrives).

"for no good reason whatsoever" That's debatable. I am not a fan of always online. But with Diablo III I understand it. There is a strong multiplayer element (co-op) and then there is the auction house. In order to prevent cheaters/hackers the game has to be online.

Now, Blizzard could have made an offline version. But that version should never be allowed to have co-op (except for LAN) or have a connection to the auction house. This requires Blizzard to actually rewrite the game. As such it ain't so bad as, lets say, the always online of Ubisoft, which only adds shitty DRM and nothing else.
I don't know, getting rid of a standard feature of the genre and the series to prevent cheating in an auction house that nobody asked for and changes the dynamic of the game in a way that even Blizzard dislikes doesn't seem like a good reason to me.

As for the expansion, honestly, I couldn't care less. Diablo 3 didn't interest me even before they announced the always online, and if I really wanted that experience I would buy Torchlight 2 for much cheaper and no bullshit.

Let's see. Does the game still require me to have a constant internet connection for no good reason whatsoever? Yes? Then there is no way in hell I'm picking it up.

Having said that, I still blame Blizzard for the server overload the first week of launch. Damn, I saw that coming even before Diablo 1 was released. Didn't we have an open beta to prevent that?
Well they learned from it. Heart of the Swarm was released without a hitch.
EA however, didn't.

Blizzard is at least willing to learn from their mistakes. Which is something a lot of this industry refuses to do.

I gave it a shot, since I got it free, and I loved 2.

Went with a party and beat the whole thing in 6 hours.

Well.....that was something. On to the next game!

Completely failed to hook me on either story, or difficulty.

I mean comeon! This is what went through my mind.

"Ah cool, I just beat the game! Lets do it again, only Harder!"
"Sweet, beat the game again. I could do it again only harder...eh ok"
"HmmI beat the game again....this is getting rather old....screw this. I allready know what happens"
How is this different from Diablo 2? If you dislike retrying on a harder difficulty, then you should have had the same issues with Diablo 2, no?
Skill points make a world of difference and is the main reason I loved D2 and when I found out that it was missing in D3 I passed

Tbh, the only two issues I had with Diablo III was the length of the game and the storyline. I played Torchlight II and I liked that it had more environments and also that it was a nice lengthy game. But to me Diablo III's combat was just so much more fun. I don't see what the huge deal is with the RMAH. If people don't like it, they shouldn't concern themselves with it. Anyways, I will give D3 another chance in hopes that it fixes the story and the length.
