Pebkac or not, the solution is simple - grab yourself a disc-booting copy of Linux (Knoppix or Ubuntu or whatever you like, you're not going to install it anyway) and delete the files from there. Then all you have to do is spit out the disc and reboot

To get rid of the directory you can try two things. Look up a guide on how to set permissions for files and directories in Windows first via Google. Go I can wait as I will go quite quick below.

First make sure Origin is not running.....

Then try going into the 'advanced' setting in the security tab for the directory. Then go to the owners tab and add yourself as the owner. Select replace owner in sub items. If you do not get an error from that you can go to the permissions section and add 'everyone' to have full rights. If this is accepted you should be able to delete the directory.

If you get errors from the above the trick is to do the same thing on the directory above the one you want to delete, but make sure to select that the changes get made to sub folders. If the directory you have to change has move than just the folder you want to delete in it, then move the folder you want to delete to another directory where just it is, as you don't want to change the permissions of other folders than the one you don't want to delete.

O/T If true this is another example of EA believing they have the right to all your system info and to be able to monkey around on our systems as they desire. Another reason that unless something changes Origin is coming no where near my PC.

Get someone who knows what they're doing on the machine.
They'll be able to fix it.

Don't ask me unless you have the ability to transfer money. I get paid for my tech work.
I was able to fix this probelem, the game works fine now block it's acces to internet with my firewall, also i am a student in computer programming so i know how too fix these damn things :p

Edit : I also said in a previous thread i will buy the game via steam sales if is decent, also the demo crashed on my pc during a cinematic after i get out in the open.
Just because your a programmer, it doesn't mean you know a whole lot. I've seen some people give me the look when I say "Run this," And I still was pretty busy re-imaging machines because certain programmers needed some free smileys, and games that would make it a waste of time to clean up the viral mess they leave behind.

While Eclipse and Visual Studio may be your tools, Acronis and a screwdriver are my tools.

Edit: Seriously now, you pirated it and now complain about what the company released... guess what they didn't make the shoddy upload.

Anyway the solution is a small free program called FileAssassin, it will shred any and all programs no matter how deeply imbedded and protected.

As much as I'd like to hate on EA some more, this sounds like a common user error.

1) Make sure *nothing* in the folder is being accessed/used by another process. (this includes Origin)
2) That includes Sandbox environments (security software limiting the extent of access that other software, Origin in this case, can access) if you're using any.

If you've closed everything and it still won't take, it's probably just a rogue process you have to close manually. If don't know the process that's accessing the folder, use the LOG OUT function, and log back in. This will usually clear those silly rogue/ghost processes in Windows.

Failing that, reboot and don't let Origin load on boot.

If the folder is under constant access by something else, you need to find it and block/terminate it. From what I can tell, Origin doesn't administratively lock you out like malware or other critical files (mostly shell-centric files), though I don't use Origin myself: this is just from what I've been able to find.

There are a lot of computer programs that prevent you from removing them. Semantic antivirus does it remarkably well, for example. So, I'm going to say they have the legal right. Still a dick move though.

Something like that happened to me once. Just because you're the only user doesn't mean you have administrator privileges. Close out all extra applications, and then go into the user account settings to make absolutely sure you are a user AND an administrator. Even double check by making another account and switching it to administrator then back if you must.

I know this is off topic, an unearthing of a topic that should stay dead, and overall just plain petty, but I can't let this go:

Eclipse and Visual Studio are software development tools; you would use these to write programs in languages such as those you mentioned.
