On topic: Of course it could be invaded and conquered. The US could do it, Russia could do it, possibly China.

The USA? Yes. Russia? Doubtful. China? No.

China couldn't actually get to the British Isles, as it doesn't have a blue water fleet.

I doubt Russia is advanced enough and has the resources to establish air superiority over the British Isles and to decisively defeat the Royal Navy, so any landing they attempt would be likely to fail.

Russia is quite a bit more powerful, and more of a threat, than most people give them credit for. (This is based mostly on my dad's opinion, who is an ex-submarine commander.)

russia, if they could fix their government, would be able to take america in a fair fight, they can do it now, saying they couldn't wipe britain off the face of the earth without nukes is just...well...naive. and china is the same way with shear man power, they dont need boats, they just need to get to teh english channel and mob you with landing vehicles

Anyone could be invaded, but we all know that any full scale war in the future will be nuclear. Our submarine based nuclear detterant is capable of destroying any location we choose on this planet, and America, if you launched on us, we could have the entire eastern seaboard wiped from existence within three minutes and still have time for that last cup of tea before we all died. We also have the best trained troops in the world and some of the best equipped. And the SAS, who could forget those guys. Go England.

Also hi, I'm one of the few brits who have spent time around americans and who like you, come on in, this culture is depressing as hell, no one has any pride as an english citizen anymore and our newspapers seriously encourage this kinda behaviour. you're all forgetting that Greenland was made by England in world war 2 out of pykrete to function as a naval vessel, so Greenland's not ice... its PYKRETE BABY!!!

but anyway trying to attack Britain by sea is just plain foolish, with all those nuclear subs that only a few people in the world know the location of at any time there's a serious risk of getting nuclear but-fucked.

I think the more interesting question is could you invade Sweden? all those scientists probably have a stockpile of terminators and bears that shoot lasers out of their eyes...

I'm afraid I have to say no; England is an island, so if the supplies from the air, ground(the Channel Tunnel), and sea are cut off, they got a problem.

If the enemy troops have set foot on England's soil, the population may have a chance when fleeing north or west, to the Highlands. But this is all a speculation, I'm not including the amound of enemy firepower.
