I remember there was a guy at my college who was killed by a forklift in a work accident. His friends set up a memorial page for him... you can guess what happened next.

That was much too far. Mocking those who are mourning their loved ones is just cruel. I tried to encourage people to stop feeding the troll, but you can guess how that went, too.

Trolling is just messing with people and just like when messing or pranking people there is a point in which it is taken to far. You want to screw with the person and get under there skin but not get them upset you want annoyed not upset.

Yes. Yes it can. Sonichu. 'Nuff said.

That's not trolling, by the way. That was blatant mocking of the review.
Soni... chu...?

OT: If "suicides" isn't an indicator of going too far, nothing is.

Yes, when people are pushed to the point of suicide over trolling then that's when you've come too far.

But as to the comment you quote, I think that's a brilliant piece of satire actually.
Hurray for Poe's law.
Well, yeah. I suppose if I see a well-written post expressing a view I wouldn't expect to come from a thoughtful person, I tend to class that as satire unless otherwise indicated. Misspelling can also be used for effect, but it's more common to find someone who has purposely misspelt something in line with popular trolling than to see a concise post saying something stupid.

I just despise trolling in general. If you get your kicks out of either; A) Insulting people of lower intelligence than you B) Annoying them to no end or C) Just being a dick. You really need to review your life choices. I can deal with B and C but to me A is just the worse. Just because you are smarter than someone doesn't give you a right to be a total dick to them.

Nope, the point of trolling is to fool someone or get a rise out of someone so if the troll does that they did what they set out to do. The people who take the bait are the ones who go too far, since trolls thrive off attention and an angry mob gives them plenty. If you don't feed the trolls they go somewhere else.
Pretty much my sentiments here. The troll never "forces" someone to do anything. The troll has as much power as the trolled gives them.

If someone offs themselves because some stranger trolled them on the internet then that person was simply a time bomb waiting to happen.

I think it starts to become a problem once they start grouping up together towards a single goal. Take the COD Enlightenment Army. They are a group(or one guy with multiple accounts) on Youtube where all they do is go onto any sort of gameplay video and say something like "Cod was the FPS" and calling others "lesser gamers" for not believing them. Whenever someone corrects one of them like "Wolfenstein was the first FPS," they'll say something like "COD came out in 2003, Wolfenstein came out in 2009, you have been enlightened." No matter what they say, they'll always piss someone off and they'll never go away, like a troll. Honestly, this has been going on for months; I'm surprised no one has done anything about it.

Go ahead and read some of the comments. But beware, they sustain damage to the brain if you do. Like I did.

awesome, more people should support "punch everyone i dont like" solutions right?
More like "go around randomly insulting and taunting people, and eventually you run into the one person who won't find it funny and make you back up your tough guy act." I find that lesson quite valuable and worthwhile, actually.
please learn what trolling is then try making analogies.

Poe's law depends on the ineptitude of the satirist to convey satire and/or the failure on the part of the some viewers to get it even when done well (if all viewers fail to get it the satirist failed to write to the audience).

So it does not impact whether or not it hits Poe's law if we get it and others fail to do so. There's also the opposite side of things where people believe something to be satire that is not. Never underestimate the possibility that the writer is just a person who can't spell or is too impatient to try.
