Of course you can.
I'm a big fan of the Warhammer tabletop and its lore.

I've only played one game that far, an have a marginally painted starter set I haven't touched for years.

Same with Magic: The Gathering.

Oh, and yeah, I can throw it pretty hard. It also has a sharpened edge. And I have no idea why they sold this with a game. TONIGHT YOU DINE IN HELL!

Oh, and I'm a fan of the batman comics despite only reading a few, so this vein of thought can move to other mediums too.

I respect you greatly for liking Batman and 300

Why did you bring a collectors edition into a home you broke into?
Jumps onto conveniently placed gargoyle after cutting all the lights. Grabs AvP fachuggers (I have two, a damaged one and an intact one)
Thank you for the respect, and PREPARE TO DIE!
*throws facheugger.

You've played the game so it's Ok. If you hadn't then you'd be a bloody idiot. Also on the Silent Hill topic can somebody please tell me if knowing the twist in Silent Hill 2 hampers the gameplay experience. I shouldn't have looked it up and I regret it.

I don't see how liking something without playing it means you actually don't like it. Then again I'm way better at ignoring other people's opinions about my opinions than the average person when it comes to this sort of thing.

I would consider myself a fan of the Project Touhou bullet hell shooters. However, I'm currently running a mac and as such can't play any of the games (I did find one site that did ports, but they seem to be glitched).

On the other hand, I've listened to music, learnt about characters and stories and watched videos of people doing stupidly well on lunatic difficulty. I still consider myself a fan, just not a true fan.

And before you can say "this is taking to long" I just want to say there are others like me (maybe only one), such as Linkara from the internet show Atop the Fourth Wall.
Actually, Linkara is who I immediately thought of, and the reason I answered yes.

Actually I'm the same with the Silent Hill series. I've spent hours and hours watching my friend play them, and I'm really fascinated by the lore, the stories and the way the games are structured and how/why they're scary etc.....but I just can't play them. I'm crap at survival horror, and I just panic and die all the time. I find horror games FAR more scary than horror movies most of the time. I think it's the passive observer vs active participant thing.

I'm a fan of Left 4 Dead but I've never played the game. Depends on your definition of fan but I like to think of myself as a fan.

I think so.

I mean, I've never played Shadow Of The Collosus. But, from reading about it, looking at videos of it, and generally having people I trust tell me it's one of the best games ever, I could quite easily proclaim it as one of the best games ever, despite never playing it. I always recommend it when people ask me about good games for the PS2.
I had the same experience with SotC for a while. I had never played it, but I knew just from watching videos and the like that it was one of the greatest games of all time. When I finally got around to playing it, I was happy to discover that it was just as good as I thought it would be. Possibly even better.
