I'm an amature MMA fighter, knowing muay thai, jujitsu, karate, and wrestling. Also I fucking love getting into fights. It just brings a rush no other activity can bring (ok sex is more enjoyable, but that satisfies a different primal urge.)
This, but with less macho douchebagery.

I've dabbled in all of those Martial Arts (not for very long though), a bit of amateur MMA (very amateur =P) plus 5 years of Taekwon do. Having said that, I am more confident in my abilities to avoid a fight.

Frankly, I think fighting is useless. Anything can be resolved without having to bash each others skull in. I'm pretty good at talking my way out of things, I've seen plenty of dumb mongoloïd jackasses trying to fight my friends at parties because there was a glimpse of eyecontact, and I have my ways to manipulate people into thinking they're better off leaving them alone.

Still, I've been in fights, and I can stand my ground pretty well, I just don't care for useless violence. Just don't make me angry.

I'll just use the tried and true method of running away.
But in seelf defense if there's no other way I might do ok but I probably wouldn't win due to my body shape of street pole.

yea i can will i do it well? depends
Yea when fighting i will go into the fight or flight instinct and mostly be fight.
Karate doesn't do much good. fought a few friends that are some-sort of black belts and easily out maneuvered them and thus KO'd them. I gotta say thought the biggest problems are the big and strong. you'd normally think you can dodge but if your untrained as i am all you can do is parry, block or back-step and those guys are like effing bears. Plus ive never really ever thought of back-stepping while in a fight just go into that mode of i wanna see this mother f*c*er BLEED!!!!!
I hate boxing stupid gloves are annoying.

I probably couldn't win in a fair fight. Pllus fair fights are boring anyway. I prefer ambushing my opponent when he leasts expects it.

The look in their eyes as the sharp objects goes through their back, the gasping for breath, the fear, the surprise. The color of blood looks delicious on white.

...what were we talkin' about?

You sound like what probably keeps Michael Atkinson awake at night, quaking under the blankets...

I have never had a real fight in my life, so I have no idea how I'd do. I'm not the strongest of individuals, but angry people can be tougher, and I'd be immensely underhanded, so I'll just have to go pick a fight and find out.

Just as the title says, can you defend yourself when it comes to fighting.

Me, well i know Karate pretty good, im curently a brown belt, so i dont know everything but i know alot. If someone throws a punch i have about 30 billion different ways to either break their arm, break their ribs, break their neck, kill them, or just fuck them up pretty damn bad.

But Fighting isnt about how well you know martial arts, while martial arts helps imensly the ability to be light on your feet and react quicly is what its all about. Me and a friend were playing around with a fake knife, it was a plasitc toy knife, and we where fighting full speed to see how we'd fair in a knife fight. I blocked his attack, pushed up his arm, and elbowed him in the gut, disorienting him, and then i disarmed him.

Keep in mind as far as i know that wasnt a combination or a form, it was just me thinking on my feet.

So, my fellow Escpaists, how whell would you fair in a fight.
Most fights end up on the ground... im a wrestler and train jiu jitsu so i think i'd beat your average joe and even most above average. Purely standup fight i might not do aswell but i can easily choke out a man 50lbs heavier and stronger than me on the ground... and i've done it on more than one occasion.

As for a knife fight... if i can find something longer like a bat i might fight otherwise i'll probably do the smart think and back away unless theres some good reason for me to take a stab wound.

Karate, well i think its great and people who practice it often have unbelievable flexability and balance but once they get on the ground are often as feeble as any new jiu jitsu student. Then again they are looking for a knockout punch/kick anyways. Just dont let me in your guard :D

I know Judo and Kung Fu, but I'm not arrogant enough to say that means I'll win any fight. A real fight is very different from a controlled match using martial arts rules, and during a brawl you'll be lucky you even think of using most of the moves martial arts teach you.

I'm not defenseless... far from it I'd like to think. But when push comes to shove and punches start flying for real and you can get taken out by a swift kick in the junk you never know what's going to happen. Because of that I just focus on not getting into fights to begin with.

I really despise the types who are proud to claim they're great at fighting or they've never lost or whatever, because either they're making empty boasts or they're retarded enough to get into a lot of fights.

I am a peaceful person so I try to stay out of fights. However, if it occurs that I do have to figh I either go for a punch in the stomach or a kick in the nuts. Always gets 'em down, especially the latter.

Where's the "Run ***** Run!" option? I didn't do cross country for 4 years not to be able to run away from people trying to hurt me. OR the kick him in the balls trick and the ultimate punch...I think at this point its customary I offer some sort of reference desert? Brownie for the winner...

It takes 15 pounds of force to tear the human ear from the head.

I can exert 15 pounds without breaking a sweat. And someone who's just lost a piece of their body is unlikely to stand back up and attack me again.

It's easy, just grasp it firmly with your thumb up in the hollow of the ear and pull sharply down and forwards. There will be blood and screaming, this is normal.

I intimidate people better than i fight really. But i can take a punch well, most fights i have been in i should have lost but the guy couldn't drop me.It turns into attrition and i win in the end.

I got to brown belt in karate, so I'm not bad. Have to say though, it's a massive jump to black belt. Fought a couple of black belts in sparring and got my arse handed to me everytime.

Last real fight I got myself into was when I commented on some matching bright pink singlets two guys at my school were wearing. They punched me several times, once in the face.

I barley felt it. I just laughed and walked off.
Haven't been in a fight since, but usually I'm good at not getting into violent situations. I very rarely have to fight, and to be honest, I like it that way. But I'm still glad I have some form of training.

I been semi-pro boxing 9 years. But I don't like getting into fights in a normal day to day situation anyway. Don't need it.

Yep. I work behind a bar, it pretty much comes with the job if you don't have bouncers on the door. Although I do often try to find a way round it as I'm not into hurting people.
