Was going to learn driving on a manual, but we sold it and we ended up getting an automatic, so no.

My dad's car has automated manual, and I can do pretty well on that. I haven't even tried a regular stick. I don't think I'd be able to concentrate on shifting and clutching and whatnot. Auto's the way to go for me, simply because it's what I learned on.
I can, but I chose to just get an automatic license since my car's automatic, and I really just CBF going out of my to get something I don't need.
I'm getting my learner's permit later this month, and I drove once. It was automatic and I did pretty well. The only problem I had was not being able to find the windshield wipers after driving through a big puddle. Some swerving may have been involved.
It depends on if you live in a more urbanized area. Out in rural areas or smaller towns more people at least LEARN to drive stick.
I can drive stick but I drive an automatic car cuz I like the simplicity and I am rarely in situations with said car where I wish I had stick.

Technically speaking, I don't have my driver's license, but really I am able to drive a manual transmission car. I just haven't done the test yet.
I can drive a manual, but not very well since I never got a lot of time in with them. I used to drive farm equipment, and they're all manuals, but my van is an automatic, so I don't do it a lot. Still, handy skill to have if you ever need it. Even a bad driver can usually figure a stick out if they do it long enough and don't A) destroy the gearbox or B) hit something not paying attention to the road.

And I find that knowledge very helpful now, since motorcycle transmissions are very similar to manual car transmissions. So it's a skill I have, but I don't use it often unless I'm back at my parents' house and can use my father's car.

i grew up on a dairy farm so driving a stick is as natural as breathing for me. the only hard part was when i bought a automatic shif car, i kept slaming on the breaks while i was having flash backs to using the clutch.
now that ive owned an automatic i dont think id want to go back to a stick, its just so much nicer not having to shift constiantly.
and to all you euro ........ people, if you built cars instead of oversized golfcarts you wouldnt be needing to shift down going up hills

No... My first time driving was a manual, it didn't work out so well.
Though I didn't really pursue it, so maybe I'd be fine if I gave it a bit more time.
And my car is an automatic, so until it dies I'm perfectly happy with sticking to automatic.

I don't see the point in learning to drive manual, seems like a waste of time considering I'd only ever buy an automatic. I don't know the advantages of a manual and I'd go as far to assume any advantages that do exist wouldn't apply to me.
No, but then I've never tried. I could probably learn to, but since my cars an automatic, there's really no point.
