If so, how good are you at swimming, and at what age did you learn this wicked skill?

I was afraid of water form the age of 2 when dad forgot me in the sea and I almost drowned(it was keen deep for him, but I almost drown, man!), but at the age of 14 I decided that I should let go of the past and learn how to swim(my dad always kept offering to teach me, but I always refused). So I took courses with 5 year old(rather embarrassing), at the local pool, and after 1 month of intense training I learned how to swim.

Now I'm a fairly mediocre swimmer, but should my life depend on it, I think I can manage.

So, how about you guys(and girls)?

I used to be part of a swimming squad. Granted, I was slow and always lost every carnival race I ever entered but in the bare basics yes I can swim.

I can sink pretty well.
If necessary, I can swim. Well enough to keep me alive.
I just don't like swimming >.>
Especially in the sea, or at least the sea around here >.>
Yuck, horrible...

I can swim like a disease spreads, Not really

I learned when I was young 'cause I was jealous of my cousin being able to swim. I killed him

I used to be a swimming teacher. Ironic, seeing as I didn't learn to swim until I was 12, and eventually worked at the same swim school that had originally taught me to swim!

I kind of miss it, but the pools here are mighty expensive...

I used to be able to swim okayish but don't do it now and haven't for some time. I hope it's like riding a bike in that you don't forget once you learn.

Swimming, surfing, windsurfing, diving, scuba, bodyboarding, kayaking.... let's just say I'm much happier in the water than I am on land.

Fun fact:During my swimming lessons,I was a goint and tried to jump backwards into the pool,I hit my chin on a metal rod,and it required stitches. They're not visible, but they remind remind me to never try stupid stunts.

I've been able to swim since i can remember, i live on an island so it's kind of a must have skill.

I swim very well, multiple people have actually compared my swimming style to that of a dolphin too.

I'm quite a good swimmer, my parents were always very keen on swimming and we used to go down to the beach every week or 2. I think I learned really young, about 3-4 maybe?

I think swimming is one of the most important skills to teach kids. When the zombies attacked only the sea will be safe ;)
