sounds a bit too "new age" for me

the onyl time i've ever heard about this was when the guy who trained my martial arts teacher did a Kata, and then claimed that afterwards he could colourful "fields" around people.

personally i think the idea is bullshit

I know for a fact that seeing people's auras is complete hogwash. From my countless psychology classes and current courses, I've read about people claiming they can see lights around others and from this light they can know what this persons true nature is and their personality. (White=kind, Black/dark red= violent. etc.) I remember in my senior year of high school in my AP Psychology course, my teacher told us about this man(I'll call him James) who constantly debunked people who claimed to have clairvoyance. He met a man(I'll call him Mark) who said he could see auras of people and he agreed to do an experiment with him. He had in between the Mark and the participant a brick wall about 7ft high. But because there was no way to see is if Mark was lying, James decided to not put anyone behind the wall at all. So when he said he was in place, Mark called out he could see a very faint yellow aura. James revealed to him that there was no one on the other side of the wall and Mark was proven to be a fraud.

As usual, Skeptoid has a pretty interesting podcast episode on this subject:

High School Psychology isn't anything to be proud of.
I'm in college for psychology, that AP course was to help prepare me for it. Did you actually have something to add to this or was it just to be annoying?

For years people have thought I was making things up as I would tell them that I can see things around people. These things I had later defined as "AURAS" or "QI". Apparently This is not overly common. I have learned to use this in many advantageous situations, for example I have a strangely accurate ability to find people in an area even if I cant see them. I simply feel if a person is there or not. If this feeling gets strong I can see a very slight color displacement around their person (or if it is dark, where their person should be). Can anyone else elaborate their feelings on this? Maybe someone else has this unique ability, do you care to share? What do you think?

Nice troll, 10/10.

In all seriousness if you aren't trolling then I'd stop what you're doing right now, that whole post will result in lulz for you, but cause massive anti lulz, leading to probiations, bans, etc. In none-internet english; you're starting a flame war.

I think people can FEEL auras (I can, but not all the time. I'm hardly a master) but I doubt any untrained person can SEE an aura.

One of my mom's best friends can.

I thought the whole 'paranormal' world was a load of garbage, but...

I can sense things ("spirits?") easily, though.

Perhaps it's the result of strong associations between colour and mood. You read their body language, and then your mind associates that with a colour that it then projects onto your vision?

I dunno, I'm no psychologist.

And I claim second page as my domain! Muahahahaa

No. NO.

Enough. If you're seeing colorful auras around people you need to get back on your meds.
