Personally, I'd like to see what Harper can do with a majority. If we don't like it, we can just vote him out next time.
And therein lies the problem. We have no idea what the Conservatives would do. They've spent the entire campaign (and months worth of advertising BEFORE it began) saying simply "The other parties are bad". At no point have they ever said what they intend to do, or for that matter what is bad about the other parties. Their ads talk about the other parties flaws without even once making mention of a specific incident or element that is flawed. In fact the only specific thing I've seen in a Conservative ad in the past year was a reference to the coalition scare back in Dion's day (during which senior members of the cabinet told bare-faced lies to the Canadian people in order to organize public opinion against it).

To be honest OP if you're not I don't sure I would simply not vote. Personally I don't like or agree with any of the candidates. I've been told to then choose between the "lesser evil" but in my opinion a choice between evil is no choice at all. That's why I'm abstaining tomorrow.

ignatif has spent more time in america than campaigning in canada in the last 10 years
Teaching at Harvard... and while there "appointed as a Canadian commissioner on the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty, which helped guide a United Nations response to humanitarian crises seen in Kosovo, Rwanda and Darfur."
and wants to add the parts of american politics that don't work to ours.
He does? Sounds more like Harper's plans to me (semi-private health-care; pointless destruction and re-organizing of census; wasted money on pointless fighter jets; tax breaks for the rich... those are HARPER'S plans - not Ignatieff).
Layton wants to conjure money magickally out of thin air, and esentially throw it down the drain, and then funnel the rest of the budget down various systems that need revamping and balancing, rather than cash to waste on. so ndp can suck it.
According to prevailing Conservative attack ads that is. If anything, Harper's messed up our economy pretty bad since he's come into power. Liberals had a BALANCED budget and low deficit. Harper's Tories drove up spending and put us into debt.
bloc FINALLY acknowlages that it's part of a whole country now,
No it didn't. It only cares about 1 province.
but still, they don't give a fuck, and want a minority gov, with them involved, so bloc is out.
Agreed. They suck.
green can suck my nuts, forever.
The clear winner in last election's debates was not allowed to participate (and thus embarass) the mainstream parties. It's too bad. But they don't stand a chance at victory so, meh.
the only thing harper has going for him is 2 things-1, the minority gov he was in never let him do jack shit, even when he was doing what they wanted, all for the sole reason of the fact harper got in, and not one of the other dudes that were fighting for the position. and even if it wasen't harper, same shit would have happened garunteed. and 2- we already know what he wants and is going to do, and frankly, it's not really that bad, better than any other politician since pierre trudeau, so, he's my vote.
Harper has never had any platform except "vote for us, because we say the other parties suck". Apparently, looking over your post, their message has rubbed off quite well on you.

Meanwhile, he lied about not Senate stacking (he stacked the Senate more than any other PM in history), handled the Bev Oda affair very poorly, is the king of American style attack ads, and other missteps

If the conservatives are to win (which they probably are) let's keep 'em handcuffed in a minority gvt. If they've been able to do this much damage already, a majority is a scary prospect.
some of what ignatif has been doing is teaching, thats fine, but constantly getting advice from american politicians that either aren't known, or not doing so well? and taking there advice? not too smart of a move i'd say.

harper wants to be friendlier w/ the americans, thats blatant, and both harper and ignatif wanted to change privatization and such, somewhat similarly too, atleast at one point they were. i don't agree w/ the out-dated jets, and so far, the tax breaks, haven't been for just the rich, so far, my bank's liking them quite nicely (i get paid jack and crap.)

the lib's have balanced the budget more than once, but, majority's only, in what case have we ever had a minority that didn't have spending issues?

bloc's always been quebec-centric, but on a televised parlamentary session, there leader, blatantly admitted it, and not in a round-about way, that bloc acknowlages they're part of a whole, not that it means much, besides being 200 years behind the times.

no comment to the greens, i got a long list of problems with them.

i never really cared much for what the candidates had to say myself, only what they say they plan to do, and so far, nothing is really impressive from any of them, more or less come down to "pick your poison, and enjoy the ride."

pierre trudeau and jean chetien, are the only 2 politions i actually respect from my generation, harper, i'm hoping won't be memorable, cuz i know he's not worth remembering once he's out of office, if he makes it in, cuz yeah if he's not memorable, then atleast he didn't fuck shit up too badly.

ps-my only real comment on your "conservative message" jab, (i hate politics tbh, but this effects me and where i live, so yes, some-sort of an intrest, but i still hate politics in general.) is when has green ever been worth it? i mean seriously, when DON'T they suck? :p besides as an F U to all the other parties. (i don't even vote.)

I don't trust that shifty Ignatieff. Harper is a robot without any real emotion or empathy. Jack Layton seems the most sensible of the three but I don't like his party or platform and no one trusts it after last time they got in.
I'd be talking about NZ politics (such as we have it), but I tend to have the same problem as this - there's usually one *leader* who's the least offensive of the options, but their party's agenda is crappy or whatever. In terms of our big parties, we don't really have to worry about liberals or conservatives - we have Labour, which is fractionally left of centre, and National, which is fractionally right of centre. Honestly, you could practically choose based on which party colour you prefer (pardon my cynicism) =P.

OT: This is your choice. If you let it be influenced by the opinions of others, it isn't your choice any more. Look at what they *say* they're going to do, subtract the 3/4 of it they'll never get around to and just put in for electioneering purposes, and then pick the best option for you. =)
