Hi everyone, So on tuesday I was driving home when my car skidded off the road and hit a tree due to wet conditions, definately a write off. So i was thinking, how many people have had accidents, and if they were their fault or not. Also, how severe it was out of 10. Id rate mine a 6/10 because of damage to the car

If you havent had a car accident, what is the best accident you have ever seen?

P.S, I would upload a photo, but im unsure how to attach a photo that isnt on a photo sharing website (Or on the net in general)

I've been in three. All of them my own fault.

I ran a Cirrus into a telephone poll while on a cellphone (16). I ran a Nissan 300zx (The best car I ever owned) into a telephone pole in a thunderstorm (Hitting the pole so hard it pushed the still running engine into the passenger side seat)(17). And finally, I ran my Sable into a Taurus (lol) after falling asleep at the wheel (18).

I have been accident free for 5 years now though, so don't be worried.

I'm not sure 'awesome' is the best word to use...

'Fatal' is better. A car missed the one I was in and went on to collide with the one behind me, killing its driver and trapping the two people in the second car, unconscious, in their seats.

I've not crashed yet *touches wood* But based on the fact I'm young and male, I probably will.

I wasnt aware one could have a "best" car crash, but the worst one I've seen was when on holiday in Germany. There was a fucktonne of fog, visibility was really low, and the bus we were on was going really slow and we came across 2 cars literally strewn across the road, bits of debris everywhere, the cars were both mashed. There were people standing around the cars crying. I dont think the services had got there yet.

Our coach just kept on going though...

The worst accident I witnessed was still pretty minor. I was walking home from school (so this was years ago, hehe) when this drunk driver swerved and hit a parked car that happened to have a driver in it - it was a pretty slow collision, so nobody was hurt, and the cars weren't too badly damaaged. What's weird is that afterwards, the two drivers confronted each other, and eventually the drunk driver locked his door and ran off - the guy who got hit ran after him. A few minutes later the drunk guy appears again and runs right past me - the guy who'd been hit appeared a few seconds later, and I pointed him in the direction the drunk guy ran off in. I ended up hanging around to give a statement about the accident, but nothing ever came of it.

I've been in a number. I wrapped a Kia Optima around a McDonald's freeway sign when the brakes failed. I was 22 at the time. The others pale in comparison.

Hmm, You are correct, awesome isnt the right word... Some crashes can be awesome, but ones like that suck, my grandparents watched as a tour bus flipped and skidded accross the road infront of them. quite a few dead, many injured

I'm not sure if this counts, but some fuckwit tradesman reversed into my car while I was parked at school once.
Didn't leave details or anything.
Which is lucky for him, because I would have used the proceeds from selling one of his kidneys to pay for the damage to my car.

I haven't had a crash yet myself *Touches wood* But I've had a few near misses, all my fault, I'll admit that.

The worst near miss I had was coming down a hill in the rain, about 25mph. Saw a car coming the other way so I went to stop behind another car on my side of the road that was parked and promptly proceeded to skid to within 5 feet of the parked. Needless to say, my ass was clenched. Tightly. And then, but this doesn't count, I followed that up next day by crashing into a hedge in a car park at 2mph. XD

And I haven't actually seen a crash so...yeah.

My dad hit a pedestrian once. We were going pretty slowly, and she walked away, saying she was okay. So it doesn't really count. And I have seen a few pretty bad crashes with debris everywhere.

Other than that, no collisions myself (can't drive yet, but give it two months).

When I was about 6 or 7 we had a collision with our neighbours. It was on a dirt road right in the 90 degree turn around the stonewall blocking everybody view. Damages included a bent radiator grill and the shield over the front wheel of the other car was knocked off and 2 crying children.

Yeah, was a few years ago, someone smashed into the side of our vw beetle. Worst injuries anyone got was a shard of glass slashing my brothers ear. (the end result looked like grabbing someones earring and pulling till the skin tears..)

Yeah, one time we came against a car on a really narrow road at a bend and we went in top of the ditch. It was pretty minor all things considered, but that's all I got. I did get out of school for about an hour. :D

Yeah when i was 9 we had a head on collision. Luckily we had stopped moving when we saw the other car coming (it was on the one land dirt road that i live on, so we are always very caution when driving on it) but they where not so lucky and the poor kid in the back seat was thrown into the front windscreen. He lived but is face got badly cut. We all got out without harm, and thats the advantage of driving a bloody Nissan patrol as opposed to those poor buggers who where in an old Ford Falcon. Their car was totaled and ours lost a headlight and the bull-bar had to be replaced.

My cousin joked when I first joined the Army that one day, he'd be watching the news, and a reporter would be doing a piece on me. In the back ground, it would show a picture of a flaming tank, flipped up side down, missing most of its armor and covered in holes from internal explosions, and leaning against one lonely telephone pole out in the middle of the desert.

hasn't happened yet, thank God.

I've been in a few accidents involving more than one car.

One was when somebody was driving me, they looked elsewhere for a split second, and she slammed on the brakes. We hit the SUV in the rear, which sustained minimal damage. The car I was in was not all that lucky. If the brakes weren't slammed on, I could easily say that my head would have been taken off. The front got crushed and needed extensive repairs, but nobody got hurt or anything.

All in all, the worst birthday ever (joke).

Next was somebody else's fault. My brother, a bunch of my friends, and I were all crammed into a five-seater after going to see the Star Trek movie premier. As we were exiting the theater, there were two lanes going out to the main road. The car in front (filled with a bunch of giggly females) was in one lane, and we weren't yet in a lane but just outside of the division about to enter one of the lanes. The female car then suddenly backed up at full speed, hitting the corner of the passenger side of the front bumper. They managed to scrape along side us and get enough room to switch lanes, luckily the lane my brother was going to drive us into. On the road before we went onto the highway, both the male and female cars were stopped side-by-side at a red light. Just as it turned green, we gave them all middle fingers and drove off. They didn't even stop to say sorry or nothin'.

Best birthday ever (joke).

My bus hit a car once when I was in elementary school. Got a bit of whiplash from that. Didn't really matter though, as no one was seriously hurt, and no real vehicle damage was done.

Agreed. But you must admit, that would be an epically hilarious way to go.
