I've been in a few.
The first, when I was 16, I drove into a curve too fast and slid off an off ramp. No damage to the car (87 Buick Lesabre) or myself. I went airborne sideways at about 40 and the car just slid across the grass upon landing. I drove back onto the road went on my way.
When I was 19 a cab blew a red light and hit me at 45 mph. It sent my car spiraling over a curb and into a church's chicken parking lot. I made sure the dude was ok, went inside and got a 3 piece with potato wedges, and sat on my car, enjoying some chicken while waiting for the police.
When I was 22 a woman pulled out in front of me and I knocked off her bumper at about 25-30 mph. The damage to my car (98 Ford Taurus) wasn't bad, but insurance totaled it anyways.
When I was 24 I hit a slick spot during a turn and hit a curb at 40 mph. Destroyed the car's (91 BMW 325i) front right wheel and suspension, but was nothing I couldn't fix in the driveway for a few hundred bucks. That's still my current, and favorite, car ever.
Also when I was 24 I drove straight into a curb that was recently put in to block an old road I was used to taking. Never saw it coming, and destroyed all 4 tires/wheels, front/rear suspension, oil pan, exhaust, transmission, among other stuff. Insurance took care of it, all $12000 in damage. This was in my girlfriend's 08 Chevy Malibu. Oops.
That last one was terrifying. It had been a while since I went that way, it was dark, and there were no signs saying the road was blocked now.
