Ok a questions to both male and female Escapists.
To females, do you find chest-hair on a man attractive? And to males do you consider it sort of "Unmanly" to shave your chest?

I have a reasonably hairy chest, and for a while I've been debating on whether or not to shave it or not. On the plus side a shaved chest seems to make muscle more defined as oppose to a bit of a beer belly look, but on the negative it can be a pain to do and if not done regularly can leave you with a chest of stubble.
Its not a well trodden issue, but its strange to picture the Spartans off 300 all spending an hour in the morning shaving there chests and the same I guess goes for most movie stars.

Chest hair is only acceptable if your chest is both tanned and pectacular (see Hugh Jackman). Otherwise, it's gross.

Cannot understand anyone who'd shave their chest. That shit stays right here.

My chest hair naturally grows into the batman symbol, so I've never shaved.
Also, thanks to this, I just sprayed tomato soup out of my nose.

In one of my least manly features, I have very little chest hair, aside from the trail from my belly button, so it doesn't really need shaving. It's both good and bad; My weight fluctuates quite a lot, so when I'm skinny it really shows (which is bad), but when I'm more buffed up the muscles show more (which is good).

I'm a hairy sum-bish. Seriously, I can't even wear a watch because I have hair all the way down to my wrists and wearing a watch constantly yanks out the hair. It probably doesn't help that I live in a city that routinely goes below -40 degrees Celsius and I wear a T-shirt everywhere I go, but meh.

I've asked this question in the past to women that I knew as friends and they all pretty much responded in that hairiness isn't really all that attractive on guys. Does this mean I'm going to have to shave my arms just to get a girl? I'll put it to you guys this way: it hasn't stopped me in the past.

I saw this thread and thought of this pic.

OT: I have a bit and dislike it.

I'm only 16 but I'm 6"1 and covered in chest hair. I think due to my natural tan and the fact I excerise regularly means it doesn't look too bad but it's ITCHY AS FUCK!

My chest is tanned and pectacular and I have no chest hair (though this is a genetic trait of my kind ;D).
I believe I have your approval? :p

I have it, and it never seemed like a big deal to me until I hit boot camp and I was informed that I was lucky to have it while I was in the shower.

I dunno. I think it downplays muscle tone to be honest, if you want to do that great, if you're a ripped beast with 4% body fat, you probably ought to shave it off.

The majority of women that have an issue with chest hair are little girls that have never been with a real man. RAWR!

I always considered guys who wax/shave their chest/arms/legs to be massive showoffs (you know the type, any excuse to get their t-shirt off)

Assuming you're not lying, of course.
