I have hair all over my body except my back palms and other obvious areas. It keeps me warm at night

Edit: just realized that half the people think im gross :( but at the same time realized that it would be even more gross on a woman. :)

Chest hair is only acceptable if your chest is both tanned and pectacular (see Hugh Jackman). Otherwise, it's gross.
This. And even then, it's still only acceptable.
(/thread in the first response. Nice.)

I like some chest hair. but not so much that you look like an animal trying to pass itself off as human. My Dad has a hairy back as well as a hairy chest, and I kind of draw the line there. In fact, I find this Hawt:http://quemas.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=120#/d2laivg

I have a fair bit, but it's my legs and stomach which are hairier. I assume it'll even out in a few years, since I had hardly any chest hair a couple of years ago.

So it's hairy face, hairy head, hairy legs and hairy stomach...

I've got very little hair on my chest and I'm happy for that. My ass on the other hand...
This. I am hairy as a bear from the waist down, but only get a couple nipple hairs and some bum-fluff (normal people bum-fluff) on my face (if it was my version of bum-fluff, I'd have an awesome beard, no worries).

As a male, I don't find it "unmanly" to shave your chest. I don't grow much in the hair department aside from my head, but I shave my chest along with everything else (minus head and eyebrows :p ), but that's me; I'm not a fan of body hair on myself. ^_^

My arms grow hair, legs grow hair, belly grows hair, heck, I even got a unibrow coming in. Yet surprisingly enough my chest refuses to grow hair...

I don't and can't have any chest hair due to family genetics. Just fine with it, too. My girlfriend loves my smooth chest...

Personally, i'm damn hairy but i've yet to meet a woman who dislikes it. I do however shave my pit hair, cause that stuff gets nasty.

Also i personally think guys just look feminine without some chest hair, and i couldn't imagine myself without it.

Im a hair guy so I think I look great with chest hair.

I did shave my chest once and I wsnt able to fall asleep that night becuase I wasnt used to having any thing actully touching it. My hair kept my shirt from touching me...

Also Im just to damn hairy in general to warrent shaving it.

Now Ive sjaved other areas but thats for another time.

As long as the man washes and the hair isn't all smelly, sweaty, greasy, and nasty I really don't mind either way.

Men are supposed to have chest hair. Period.
Eurocentric standard of masculinity ITT. I bring that up on every chest hair thread it seems.

Anyway, as for the OP. I find some men with chest hair attractive and I think some men look better with it. It varies widely on who has it, how much they have, etc. I definitely don't consider it unmanly to shave it, either. Not that much of the global adult male population develops significant chest hair.

Chest hair is ok just not too much. Tom Selleck has too much. And I don't want to get into the whole back hair discussion, blah.
