Shaving your chest hair is for Calvin Klien underpants models... and yes, I consider it to be unmanly. Back in the 70's a hairy chest was considered sexual and a sign of virility, of course back then basically all women wore pubic hair... less so now.

I have a hairy chest and it's never really bothered any girls I've "known". I do, however trim it to keep it from going all 'amazon'. Oh, and I keep fit, no man boobs here.

Back hair? Totally different issue IMO. Wax that shit! Sooo unsexy! Does this make me a hypocrite? Maybe, but I don't much care cos it works for me.

Edit: Oh, yeah. It also kinda depends on your other hair. If you wear a beard or have hairy legs, it looks better with the hair.

I dunno, at least I don't find hairy people ugly or anything.

By some strange quirk, I have chest hair too although I'm female-bodied. And it's not curly, it's straight. Never shaven it, I don't have any reason to.

To females, do you find chest-hair on a man attractive? And to males do you consider it sort of "Unmanly" to shave your chest?
What were you thinking when you created this poll? Given the structure of the poll, and the joint questions asked, you'll have a mangled outcome.

Anyways...

Male: No, I don't find it 'unmanly' to shave my chest. ...what exactly is it to be 'unmanly' anyways?

Did I miss the memo on manly manliness and the way of men?

I am an extremely hairy man, and I'm glad my girlfriend doesn't ask me to shave wax my chest (just my back and shoulders, which is perfectly understandable).
Mind you, I don't consider it unmanly to remove the hair from one's chest, as long as it's for functional reasons (pretty much anything aside from vanity/modeling). Here's one example of a manly man who has removed his chest hair:

My chest is just as hairy as the rest of me, but I don't think I'd look very good shaven.

Anyway, it depends on the person.

Well my ex liked my chest hair, she'd like to rub my stomach when we'd sit around or pull on it sometimes when we were intimate. Both felt good. I'm a swimmer so I've shaved my chest and I think I look better without hair there, you can see what's going on haha.

So...it depends on the situation I guess...

Same opinion I have of facial hair- it looks good/gross on different people.

The last guy I was with shaved his chest or just happened to be pretty damn smooth.

If I see a naked dude on TV [small]or if I'm looking at porn[/small] (aka, in instances where the dude is reduced to an aesthetic object rather than a person) I prefer shaved and get pretty grossed out if a dude has a bunch of chesthair. In real life though I realize that it's attached to a human being, and it certainly isn't going to stop me from having sex with someone I love, though no hair would still preferable.

Ideally chest hair wouldn't be visible but it's not really that big a deal. I doubt any males here would refuse sex with a woman they were interested in if she hadn't shaved her legs in a couple days.

Now, my chest hair isn't anywhere being Neanderthal-esque, but it's hairy enough that you notice it. I've never shaved it, simply because I'm apprehensive of the fact I might do it wrong and mess it up. Granted, I don't think my chest is hairy enough to warrant a shave. Also, if I were to shave my chest, wouldn't I have to shave my legs as well? The contrast just seems like it would be weird, you know? Unfortunately, this sounds like it needs an outside opinion.

This isn't the clip I was looking for, but it helps state the point. Kramer later shows the result of him shaving his chest, and it basically grows super large or something.

So, unless you're willing to do it for the rest of your life AND need to do it for olympic swimming (perhaps cycling, not sure), don't do it man! (I voted Yes, its unmanly).

I don't find my own body repugnant, and I'm not looking to impress anyone.

Without motivation, giving myself something to maintain would be pretty silly.

I've got very little hair on my chest and I'm happy for that. My ass on the other hand...
hahahha i laughed at this, which i am in a very similar situation...

i do have some hair on my chest, and i think it looks gross, so i shave it off (only grows back to the same length roughly once a month, if that)

however, my underside...good god, you'd swear something died in there and my ass hair ate it.

For whatever reason, my chest hair is naturally in the shape of a bunny rabbit, much to the love of women and admiration of men, so no complaints :p

I'm not a fan of the ol' chest hair and neither is my girl friend. I've told her that if by some freak accident I happen to develop this manly attribute she has permission to wax it straight off.. So yea.. I cast NAY!

Pics or GTFO, plz.

Also I answered before reading the OP, I thought it was asking if we HAD chest-hair.

Please make it more obvious for impatient impulsive people like me, please.
