So, Christmas and early birthday gifts have completely kicked my ass (in the best possible way), leaving me with a crazy backlog of games I've been desperate to check out for a while now. I am about to finish up Hitman: Absolution (fun game, just doesn't feel completely like a Hitman game to me, more like Splinter Cell with fiber wire) and cannot make up my mind at all on which to tackle next. So now I turn to you all! Which one do you escapists suggest be my next target? Any particular reasons why? Thanks for doing the thinking for me!

I'd say Journey, shortly followed by The Walking Dead. Journey, because it's an absolutely beautiful game. It's not that long though, but it's a wonderful experience that's definitely worth going through. The music, the art style, the "lack" of communication, it all really comes together.

As for following up with The Walking Dead, it's because it's one of the best narratives you'll ever experience in a game. Sure, the choices you make might not have the biggest impact, but they do affect the relationships throughout the five episodes. If you're the type who gets really immersed and attached to the characters, prepare for one hell of a ride.

XCOM and Far Cry 3 are both on my list too but I'd recommend XCOM cos there hasn't been many good strategy games released for the consoles since this one.

I'd say play Far Cry 3. It's pretty god damn fantastic. Also get journey finished as well it's a short game.
