Christmas always starts as a good idea. At first I love the spirit of the holliday. But then it starts getting to me. Just little annoying things. I hate the music, the crowded mall, some of the more annoying family that I have to deal with.
I have to say the only way for me to keep the spirit going for myself is to dig into the booze. Why, because it makes the sounds go away.
Getting through the whole ordeal is a balancing act between whatever internalized mirth I may have left and the "christmas spirits" that get me through the season.

I used to love Christmas.
Now, I hate it. It's over-commercialized and over-hyped, the way people go nuts over Black Friday sales makes me want to puke, and the University is closed, which means no classes, no anime club, no access to the library and computer labs.... Not to mention that it seems like most Christmas music made after 1850 sucks...
This would have been inconceivable ten years ago, but I'll say it: I can't wait for school to start back up again....at least when I get a job, I might be able to make some overtime pay by working the holidays....

I hate the fact it's compulsory to make a wish list and buy presents for other family members. I don't have any wishes and buying a present because it's christmas and not because you actually want to be nice to a person is so stupid. For children it's fine, they enjoy the presents and all the hype about christmas much more. I just don't anymore.
The best part, though, is the food and seeing some family members. I hate the traditions to some extent.
Oh, and also - it is NOT a christian event. If anything, it is pagan and about celebrating the winter solstice. So stop singing about Jesus and whatnot.
