Well, it's about CoD4. So despite battle rifles and assault rifles firing different-sized rounds, the game went and lumped them all together. And the poll's about the game.

it depends on the mode, however as a general rule of thumb I use G36c in non hardcore matches and the M14 in hardcore matches.
they really screwed the M14
it should be one of the best in the game
Its heavier so it has less muzzle climb and you don't shoot it on full auto at longer ranges anyway
It shoots a similar round as the AK

I normally snipe or use my 'ghost' class, which involves a p90+silencer+uav jammer+extra ammo and it=win.
the AK47 or the G3 are probably the best silenced Assault rifles in COD4, i think. because their sights are easy to look down, and it's easy to spot people at further distances.
M14 disappoints me slightly because of its recoil in the game, but it's still good for long range single-shot kills (in hardcore) with a red dot or even an ACOG.
M16 just shits me up the wall because all the noobs use it along with frakkin stopping power.
G36C is probably my third fave, because of its increased power compared to the M4, which i think is a pretty sweet gun.
the MP44 is annoying only because it doesn't have a marksman challenge XD
but my most frequently used one would have to be the G3. i don't know why.

Not sure why but every prestige is like a reincarnation for me, I used different guns every prestige but on that prestige I won't be able to play with anything else
Depends on the map and my place in the rank structure really. M-14 on many of the maps with better sight lines. G3 is a common staple as well. M-16 is probably my bread and butter weapon as it works well at range and close quarters.
In the story mode, I usually carry one G36 with one G3. I find that the G3's raw power makes up for the slof fire rate and muzzle climb. I also like the way the G36 feels. The M4 just didnt cut it for me. And I dont like the grenade launcher either, it's just not my thing.
Whether I'm on the 360 or the PC, it's M16 all the way. It's the first assault rifle you get, and it's practically a cheat. You point at your target and it kills them. I LOVE IT. It has perfect aim and does tons of damage, I've never played a game with such a highly accurate, highly damaging weapon that just kills people instantly. Put some stopping power on it and it's almost one-hit-kills. You can even just fire from the hip when someone gets close and still have a high chance of hitting and killing them. I hate competitive multiplayer games like Halo and Gears of War where it takes tons of hits, even to the head, from any practical weapon to kill somebody. Unless you have a sniper rifle you can't one-hit-kill crap in those games. CoD4 revolutionizes online killing by finally giving people really low health counts.
Anyone who bitches about it is just that: A *****! I'll agree that the gun seems slightly overpowered but that's not going to stop me from using it! It's not like anyone who uses it is suddenly unstoppable, like if a whole team used it they couldn't be beaten simply because they're holding it. "Noob" is often thrown around as a name for anybody smart enough to use M16s with stopping power and grenade launchers, like their hours upon hours of playing Call of Duty 4 means nothing because the weapon they're using. They could be the first ever person who played the game but they're still a BIG NOOB 'cause they're using a good weapon. If you're so afraid of it, then use it yourself! Boohoo.
I HATE PEOPLE WHO WHINE. One guy was whining to me about the M16, and he said that if he used the M16, I would be whining just like him. I never whine. He used it and I still didn't whine because I still whooped his virtual ass.

I find that the whole M16/SP thing balances itself out because you cant use the M16 for everything. There is that delay between shots fired that makes it difficult to win any situation where there's more than 2 people against you alone. The G36C has that rapid response I need for a room clearing weapon. Other people realize this too otherwise they wouldn't need 5 class slots. If you're fighting a horde of enemies that dont exactly know where you are the M16 is a fine weapon, but if you've got 3 heads pointing their sights at you while you duck behind a wall you're going to need something full auto. Then there's the psychological factor generated by putting a lot of bullets downrange. A few times on hardcore I was pinned down with a G36 (with double tap) and all it took for a little dispersal was emptying a mag into the offending party for them to scatter a little. Sometimes this is enough for me to escape (or better, return fire and rack points). M16 doesn't have that, you pull a trigger and a guy drops, no one really pays attention to it, but when you spray an area at 1012 RPM people notice. All the weapons serve a particular purpose and I dont think any of them need to be nerfed. I just likes me muh G36C.
