£10-15
Not a penny higher
COD4 still goes for 25.
Is that for console and new? Let me keep this short and sweet.
1. COD4 is more than a GOOD game but an absolute classic, unlike COD:WAW, MW2, and I suspect Black Ops too will be underwhelming. Only COD4 can still sell for that much almost 3 years later
2. I'm talking PC here, so COD: Black Ops should retail for only £30 initially (-£10as no console licence fee) so not such a drastic price drop.
3. oh yeah, and COD4 isn't £25 on PC as here [http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001ET6P3W/ref=asc_df_B001ET6P3W651240?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=7974&creativeASIN=B001ET6P3W] it is going for £14.99 with free delivery (look under the "17 new" link) new.
4. and I got COD: World at War for only £14.99 in the Steam Christmas sales
OK, I know I sounded certain earlier but I MAY be willing to go about 2 or 3 pounds over 15 quid if it Black Ops gets positive reviews, something in the high 80's aggregate score, you know.
See I still have SO MANY games to play I am not going to buy a game for £30 now when I won't play it right away and it will be quite a bit cheaper later. It's unlikely to be a very special game, Activision is milking this franchise for all it is worth and Treyarch has always played it safe and simple.
Now the next game from Respawn entertainment, that I might get at £30 launch price. Though no pre-order, NEVER pre-order. It's not like discs are hard to print, when have you EVER heard of a game "selling out"? Not since the N64 cartridge era.
(and no I don't think us PC gamers are particularly privileged to pay £10 less per game, as neither Sony nor Microsoft are subsidising the cost of my hardware, as is the case with consoles)
