Call of Duty.

Every year I say "NO MORE, ACTIVISION! YOU SCREWED ME OVER LAST TIME!", but every time I go on crawling right back to good old Call of Duty for some mindless shootery action, and besides, 3arc, the ones who REALLY hurt me every two years with their shitty games, are gone for this installment.

Battlefield is very much PC-centric, and always has been, and for that reason I won't be buying it -- they always release DLC late and have very bad servers, and the whole set up just doesn't work.

In actuality though, I probably won't be buying either. Too skint :'(

Wheres the "I like both" option? I don't see why you have to like one of the games over the other. I enjoy Battlefield just as much as I enjoy Call of Duty.

I was on the MW hate train back when the first one came out, before it was cool. Of course, we all called it COD4 back then, since that was the fashion.

So, yeah, BF3.

This is going to go only one way. Battlefield. (The poll that is). The Escapists seems to appreciate the more team-based of the two shooters.

Personally I'm for BF3. A whole load of my friends play it and I enjoy it more than the MW series. Good gunplay AND squad-based gameplay you say?

Of course it's less of an "E-sport" than MW in my opinion, but I've never been one for small-scale FPSes anyway.

Battlefield 3, it just looks so good. Also I've heard that the next CoD won't be called Modern Warfare 3 anymore.

Long standing Battlefield fan, none of that's going to change. Never really liked any Call of Duty game.

Most likely both will be fun.
MW3 will be more over-the-top than ever, and BF3 will also show a fancy campaign. Of course, MP is all the fuzz these days. MW3 will be fast solo action, running around, gunning, camping, whatever. BF3 most likely will need quite a lot of teamwork, but there's always room for campers and whatnot.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna enjoy both of them, they have stuff that i like.
Also, i don't think versus threads are good forum material, i think somewhere in the forum rules there is a link between the words "versus threads" and "frown upon". I think. Not sure.

Battlefield 3 for me :)

I didn't like MW2 because of the severe balancing issues. "Oh what's that? It seems as do there are 2 enemy harriers and a enemy cobra in the sky! Well, I certainly can't go outside so I think i'll hide indoors for a bit till they go away." (20 seconds later) "I'm glad that i hid inside. Wait what's that sound?" BOOM, "What? I was killed by a predator missile while i was inside????? Shit, This couldn't get any worse." 3..... 2...... "WTF is that counting coming from?" 1....... Nuke launced, "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!?!?!?!?!?!" BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

Also the setting for the story was kinda good but the direction and narrative was ridiculously poor.

Although I do like explosions :)

i think it's better to change the title, don't you think?

if it were mw3 vs bf3, i'd go with mw3, by the way
Did you guys never get the "fill in the blanks" in English class sorta tests? We had those all the time, I'm starting to think they might've not been that useless after all...

OT: Battlefield 3, by far. I've no interest in MW3's multiplayer (personal preference, not franchise hating). Singleplayer and co-op might be fun, but then, I expect Battlefield to win out there as well and unlike with MW3, we know BF3 will have co-op already :)

Why don't we just replace this topic with a big giant banner that says "THE ESCAPIST STILL DOESN'T LIKE THE CALL OF DUTY SERIES" and save everyone some time?

Also, since I know almost nothing about either title, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to make a choice between them. I'm also a little confused about how everyone seems to managing just fine.

Battlefield 3. 'Nuff said but if you want arguments: After MW2 and Black Ops, I'm not going to buy another COD. I'm sick and tired of those games(COD 4 is still one of the best games ever though). Newer games are basically the same games with different settings and guns. Yes MW3 is supposed to have more open maps and destructible enviroments but there already is(well there will be) an FPS with those mechanics: Battlefield 3 and Bad Company games. I also prefer team work.

I'm psyched for Battlefield 3, I watch the videos constantly, etc. etc. but seriously, please use the forum search tool.

Battlefield 3. And whoever voted for CoD needs a brain biopsy because there is something wrong with them and we need to find out what it is.

Honestly, I think they are both going to suck. Call of Duty was shit after World at War, and Battlefield, well, was never really that fun to me... My money is going to RAGE. Plus they'll probably the same generic war shooters again, filled with campers and overpowered unbalanced vehicles that ruin multiplayer.
