You know, I can respect that. If you are actually doing what I described - reading through and appreciating the art - that's what it's there for. My point is that it's:
(a) too expensive for a little book of concepts
(that you could effectively view the same kind of quality and diversity on something like DeviantArt)
and
(b)
MOST people just let the CE sit and rot on a shelf. They may flip through the art book or dick around with the cheap-o HALO helmet for a day or two, but it's ultimately a waste of money as those two days are over pretty quick and now they're just playing the
game.
The majority of people of whom I am familiar fall into the "b" category, and when I press them on the matter, they can't come up with any good reason on forking over the thirty or forty extra bones; it seems they do it "just cause", but they make such a big deal about it and yet have absolutely no reason for it. That is what I find annoying and deserving of scrutiny and ridicule.
Now, like I said, if I got a real, metal, seeking Batarang that I could flick at morons driving 10 mph under the speed limit, or dumbasses deciding to cut me off and then slow way the fuck down for no apparent reason, I'd be right there. Hell, I'd buy 20 collectors editions if that were the case.
