"Colour" is the original spelling in English, but Noah Webster [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noah_Webster] took it that American's needed their own version of English to differentiate themselves from the Redcoats. everyone does it differently, but im guessing "Color" is probably the most popular.
So both are right, or wrong, as the case may be.
