You have to understand that Deadpool is actually a parody of Deathstroke. They are taking the "Grim, serious assassin of death" and making him a joke.

Slade obviously......especially when he becomes demon reborn.
ron pearlman man....ron pearlman.....

Dc did Deadpool first(like all marvel characters), his name was joker.
Is the Joker a badass?
Uuuuuuuuuuuummm, yeah

Deathstroke is fantastic. But Deadpool wins based on fourth-wall breaks, hilarious interactions with other characters and his constant yammering.

Why does everyone like Deathstroke 'Slade' off the 'Teen Titans?' He's so incredibly intelligence and able but nope...let's have Robin beat him up routinely despite the fact he continuously fights Batman toe-to-toe (Occasionally winning) and beats the Justice League multiple times.

Though Deathstroke is probably in my top three favorite DC villians, I have to go Deadpool. He's actually incredibly skilled/able and can beat the best both worlds, he's funny and is never a boring read, he's one of the 3 who can pick up Mjölnir, and he actually has a lot more going on right now. Though I do love me some serious badass Deathstroke.

FYI, to those who pick sides of Marvel or DC. You're missing out, regardless.

My money's on Deadpool. Being funny is a good quality when I judge my comics.

Can I ask why Deadpool suddenly got so popular? I hadn't even heard of him until the X-Men Wolverine movie, then after that i see him everywhere on the internet...and I know damn well that movie can't be the reason.

Under any other set of circumstances my vote would have gone unanimously towards Deadpool... But, Deathstroke was played by Ron Pearlman AKA Hellboy in the TV series so yeah Deathstroke it is. Not to mention that Deathstroke's kids/sidekicks take on the mantle of the Ravager, Robin eat your heart out.

I Quote: "Do I still think in these little yellow boxes?" "I'm good" " I missed you little yellow boxes, what FUN we shall have together!"
Deadpool is undeniable awesome.

deadpool all the way, now let me tell you why, aside from being one of the funniest superheros out there bar none(loved that scene where he was having a conversation with himself admiring a rich dudes house, but then pies up with "yeah but dos he have a chair made of C4?" fell over laughing after that) hes just plain awesome and outclasses deathstroke , hes an expert in multiple forms of martial arts, an expert swordsman and marksman. It has also been discussed that, while his psychosis and dissociative identity disorder is a handicap, it is also one of his greatest attributes as it makes him an extremely unpredictable opponent. Taskmaster (who has photo-reflexive memory which allows him to copy any one's fighting skills by observation, thus making him their equal in battle) was unable to defeat Deadpool due to his chaotic and improvised fighting style, meaning the man whose power is to copy your every move and beat you to death with your own fighting technique cant overcome the merc with a mouth. his healing factor outclass wolverines and perhaps even rivals that of the hulks. he has knowledge of the 4th wall which aside from being amusing as all hell gives him a tactical advantage if he could ever figure out how to use it

simply put deadpools the better "hero" (and i use that term rather loosely)he may not seem as badass as Slade but that's part of his charm he plays the fool but can kill you six ways to Sunday and then go out for chimichangas without breaking a sweat.

Deathstroke. He fought the Justice League singlehandedly. That's pretty freaking great. And I don't find being funny to be such an important quality in comic book characters.
Yes, but Deadpool busted two nukes in the Hulk's face to try get him to kill him, stopped to usher some school children to safety and was then turned into a puddle by the Hulk and survived.

And he stabbed someone with their own femur.

Well Deadpool was just a lazy ripoff of Deathstroke at first. And then went on to become awful, overexposed and excruciatingly annoying.

Deathstroke was involved in some truly excellent storylines. I'm gonna pick him.

Never read Deathstroke so I'm gonna say Deadpool by default. Then again I'd probably say that anyway as Deadpool is awesome.

Pfft. Deadshot all the way.

By the way Ed is Deadshot's dead brother. Their mother tried to hire them to kill their father. Deadshot while trying to stop Ed from becoming a killer, tried to shoot the gun out of Ed's hand but shot him in the head instead.

Well, in a fight, Deadpool would just pop ahead to the panel in which Deathstroke reveals his weakness, then pop back and kill him with his own word bubble. So... DEADPOOL ALL THE WAY!

Versus threads are frowned upon on the Escapist, and Deadpool of course, but only when written by Joe Kelly or Fabien Niceza (in Cable & Deadpool).

Well, Deathstroke is one of my favorite comic characters, and I don't like Deadpool... Seems obvious my answer.

Deathstroke.

Deadpool. He's just hilarious. My style of humor to a T. I think the only things that make me laugh as hard as he does are Dr. McNinja and No More Heroes/Killer 7.
