Well, now it's official, after Daredevil #512 comes out DD will no longer be the protector of Hell's Kitchen. The role will now be taken up by.............. The Black Panther?

Yep, Black Panther is gonna be the new man without fear. Although he won;t have any of his trademark tech with him. I just don't know how to feel about this now.

Poor Matt has always been tortured, I just hope they dont get rid of him as a character (just like Steve Rogers is now a shield agent instead of Captain America)

Daredevil will always be my joint favourite (along with John Constantine and Ultimate Spidey) :(

Wait doesn't Panther have a kingdom of his own to watch over?
Indeed. How the hell are they going to make that transition seem even remotely logical? Will Storm divorce T'Challa and keep his kingdom?

And seriously, Daredevil is a classic with a rather large fanbase (including myself), why would they want to remove him? The news that the Black Panther will get his own mag would be great, but not at the cost of Daredevil...

Anyone know if this was decided by someone with a long tenure with Marvel, or some new person brought in by Disney?

After the Sahdowland event T'Challa will take over but won't be the ruler of Wakanda anymore, I don't know any more details than that

This is really, really hard to take. Being a big fan of both characters I feel myself at an impass. :/

So he has to paint his costume red and poke his eyes out. I feel bad for him.

Death, in comic terms, means the artist is tired of drawing him and he'll be back to increase sales the next time they waver.

Actually, BP isn't gonna change his costume. Or have DD's powers. Or start to call himself Daredevil. It's just gonna be called Black Panther: The Man Without Fear

Matt'll be back. I'll admit, this is pretty surprising, but it's not anywhere near the level of shakeup that occured when Winter Soldier took over as Captain America when Steve Rogers died (he came back), or when Dick Grayson took over as Batman when Bruce Wayne died (he just came back a month ago).

Also, I think it's worth noting that this isn't the first time someone has taken DD's place. Back during Civil War, when DD was imprisoned in the Phantom Zone prison, Iron Fist took his place for awhile. Didn't last very long, but it turned out to be a rather excellent lead-in to Fist's own series.

Unless of course you're some obscure hero/villain back from when there were no backgrounds. Your appearance usually accompanies you being put down to tie up loose ends (it's as if comic companies have a maximum amount of supers allowed and they're trying to stay well beneath it).

I'm still confused why Panther will be out of Wakanda.

But Why DD? Why does he need to die? He's actually one of the better Marvel characters.

even as a casual comic reader i feel the stirrings of nerdrage within me. this will not end well for marvel (but at least its not having Lyfeld at the art chair)
