I have to admit what first interested me in Dragon Age was hearing about the posibility of lesbian romance, but the importance of that quickly diminished as i found what looked like a good RPG

I would never buy a game solely for that reason but it is a plus. However the opposite is also true. If the main character looks repulsive I will avoid the game. I'm don't mean looking average either, I mean Gears of War terrible.

Rarely. If i want to look at something with sex appeal, I have the internet and porn is relatively easy to get at on the internet.

Awesome as she is, Lightning looks like she's going to kill you in that picture.
Try finding a picture of Lightning where she DOESNT look like she's going to kill something.

Go ahead I'll wait. I've been looking for a way to kill time until the release of Shenmue 3 anywho....

Rarely if ever. Generally speaking most videogame sex appeal isn't targeted towards me and my fellow man-lovers.
This. Although, I'd say never. There are attractive characters to be sure (canon Shepard, Starkiller) but they're not sold to anyone as sex symbols.
Come to think of it, despite my interest in the gameplay and the option to play nonviolently, Faith might have actually sold me on Mirror's Edge. The fact that she's so very realistic and just an attractive woman without gimmicks pushed the sale of that game for me. I think she's beautiful, but I wouldn't have sex with her. So, does that even count as sex appeal? xD

ALL. THE. TIME. Bikini Samurai Squad, Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball, Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, Arcana Heart, Guilty Gear. This was my downfall though, when I bought Rumble Roses XXX. Gameplay-wise, it was a huge letdown for me.

Have I learned anything? Heck no

I won't lie, I've bought some games because of their sex appeal (i.e. Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur). I would be lying if I said "I just play it for the combos."
And you are better man than most of us here for admitting that. Gold Star Buddy! Gold Star!
Soul Calibur's breasts have always told me I made a good choice when I brought those games.

Such a shame so many Escapists prefer to come across as sensible and mature rather than admit that they've always checked the back of a game cover to see how skimpy and revealing the outfits are...
Maybe it wont make us always buy the game but I'm still tired of how boring and blunt people are here about Boobies..

It affects me not.
yes i have Soulcalibur but i have been fan of series for long time and mainly play Siegfried, Nightmare or Zasalamel. Ivy you say...uugh i not liek. Even the boobies wont save from fact that shes annoying on AIs hands and very annoying to play.

Tho i admid that i play with character creator from time to time and little clothed zweihander wielding ladies do appear from time to time but as thread is about buying game dis does not
matter

I like sexy things and beautiful ladies in revealing outfits as much as the next guy. I will never get tired with seeing hot chicks jiggling their breasts in my face, but I don't have to buy video games to see that. I have stable internet access, and the internet is full of porn. FREE porn, enough of it that I can watch porn everyday without ever seeing the same pair of tits twice.

No, not at all. I buy large-scale games for their story, and smaller games for their gameplay.

That said, I don't mind saying if I think a character is cute or not. I know some people would say "DUDE SHE'S A VIDEO GAME CHARACTER", but so-fucking-what, they look realistic enough these days, enough that it's pretty damn easy to tell if a character is cute.

Never, being honest. I find the whole virtual attraction thing creepy, and sometimes it even wards me away from buying. I am hesitant to get the new Duke Nukem because of it.

Never really, I'm not sure why companies try to use it to sell games. It's hard to find characters in games sexy until after you've spent a few hours getting to know them.
