Hello there to all fellow FF7 fans..

I have been a fan of FF7 for a few years now and even more so of Nanaki, or, Red XIII.
I want to get a tattoo that is somewhat a dedication to the game, but isn't too obvious (basically I want only fans of the game to appreciate the tattoo).

The following image is of Red, and I want to get the tattoo on his front leg as shown.

I am interested to know what you all think! (I'd probs just have it on my lower back).

Cheeries.

Are you a girl? All lower back tattoos are auto-sexy. If you're a dude, don't.

Well I think it's something you have to think very seriously about. The tattoo is cool, but think about how you might feel about it in a few years time. Getting a tattoo is all very appealing, but it is something that you'll have years from now, and do you really think that a videogame tattoo is something you'd want to have on you then?

The other thing is that a lot of FF7 fans, who have gone for tattoos, will have this exact same design.

I agree with Galletea, it's not terribly unique and you will likely regret it. Oddly, in somewhat related news, my best friend has a tattoo of the "True Fire Rune" from Suikoden 3 on his back...

Get It on your leg, Like red! Heres a tip, If your not sure right now about carrying the art on your body, carry a copy in your wallet or something you carry everyday. If your not getting sick of it, and it suits your soul, DO IT. Its about you, and nobody else.

Tattooing something from any game no matter how popular is a bad idea. Here are the reasons:

1. Tattoos don't age well.
Imagine 40 years from now . Will that tattoo look as pristine as it did when you first got it?

2. If you are doing it for attention, don't bother.
This one is for your tattoo in particular. It is one that is not displayed prominently enough to really stick in anyone's mind so be prepared to explain over and over again where you got the idea.

3. You will be labeled an uber fanboy.
After you explain the idea, people will instantly label you a Final Fantasy Fanboy and that might lead to some pretty heated arguments about the game.(Actually if you enjoy arguing about games that might be a plus.)

If you must get a tattoo, get one of something that people remember from the game. It may not be super original like your idea but people will recognize what you are trying to do.

If you must get a FF7 tattoo, get something

Yes.

XD this however is totally awesome. However, I'd get the rune of atonement/forgiveness ...or maybe the beast rune. Suikoden Rune tattoos, now that is a great idea!

It's probably a good idea if you don't.

But, if you must, I'd suggest getting it on your upper back, preferably one of the shoulder blades.

I'm not going to try to convince you to get or not get the tattoo. I also like the design, but as others have already said, a tattoo is a pretty serious endeavor that will stay with you for the remainder of your life (unless you want to have it lasered off). My advice to you is to wait a few years, see if you still want to get the tattoo, and if you truly do, then go get it. And it would be wise if you do decide to get it to have it somewhere where it can be easily covered, such as the upper back or shoulder blades.

By creating this thread I'm guessing you care what other people think a little too much. So my advice to you is don't!

If you're able to look past this and get the tattoo for your own pleasure, go right ahead. If it's what you really want.

Take some time to think about it. And by "time" I mean like a year or two. If you still want it at that point and you still feel it holds some significance for you, then go for it.

But I wouldn't go for the tramp stamp, even if you are a girl. Lower back tattoos are just too cliche right now. Put it somewhere else.

Depends on size and location, personally I don't like the lower back area. If you are getting it for yourself and only yourself as opposed to showing it off, you should get it somewhere where it can be kept covered. I agree with what most people have said, wait a couple of months and if you are still passionate about it by all means go ahead. Obviously you're not sure by creating this poll so now is not a good time to decide upon it, wait.
